Don't like Madonna but she's absolutely right with this quote!

Ugh! it annoys me that she's right! Ah well, perhaps this will motivate me to do a bit of extra exercise today. Hey! Maybe I'll even put a bit of Madge on to work out to!! Hahaha no actually that's my idea of hell. Well done to everyone here who has lost weight and become more healthy!

Spectra: A BIG HURRAY for losing 90 lbs!!!! I love that Madonna has never fitted into the super thin craze. Always been muscular and strong her whole career.

This quote totally got me off the couch today! Thanks for posting!

It's a motivating quote, and it's true. I feel like I used to have this discipline, and when it comes to running I still do (I'll always be a runner at heart). But my diet lately has been terrible; we're talking borderline binging on M&Ms, here. I've never had this kind of problem with discipline and will power before, so quotes like these really hit home, because it's the cold, hard truth. I respect anyone and everyone who has gone from a not-so-healthy lifestyle to a healthy one. And I would love tips on how to get back on the healthy eating wagon from any of you successful ladies, as I've never been on this side of the situation before. It sucks!!!

I think the "trick" it finding something you like. If you love tennis, sign up for a league so you are accountable. Running, find a running group or post your results online. I love MapMyRun's goals.

This is so true, re: pretty much everything. The other important thing to remember: "It is one thing to praise discipline, and another to submit to it." - Miguel de Cervantes

Ehh I know a lot of women are high on Madonna and her dedication to being fit and healthy, but I really think she's a tad bit too muscular.

This is so true. I lost 90 lbs using nothing but discipline and hard work. When people ask me how I lost weight, I tell them "I eat a healthy diet and I work out a lot". Then they say "Oh, I could never do that...too much work". Sigh.

Yes! I tell my friend this all the time. He's overweight and wants to be 'one of the beautiful gays'. I lost 40 lbs before (but gained it back when I got into a relationship)..and now I've lost almost 30lbs since Oct. He's super annoyed that I've done it, and HOW. I just tell him to be strict with oneself and it'll come off. He doesn't believe me. He's a HUGE Madonna fan, and, yes, way more than me...and that is scareyly possible as he proves it daily, lol.
