Do You Exercise When You Have a Cold?

The flu is one thing, but when I have a little cold, sometimes exercising makes me feel better. Even though I may not have the energy for a full-on sweat fest, getting moving helps warm my body up and usually helps relieve my nasal congestion. What's your take on exercising when you're sick?

Nope. Usually I have chest congestion that lasts for weeks when I get sick. If I can't breathe then I don't do it.

Only light exercise so as to boost the immune system but not put extra stress on the body.

I haven't had a serious cold in a long time, but I do get the occasional stuffy nose or sore throat. I still work out if I have something like that because the increased blood flow seems to help with the congestion.

When I start to feel better after a few days, I will start exercising again.

I tend to do less cardio. Running on the treadmill seems kind of pointless when I have to hop off every few minutes to blow my nose.

I have allergies so when I get a cold, I usually can't breathe at all. Exercising isn't an option until the sinuses are a little clear.

Sometimes- when I do I like to keep it somewhat short, so I'll do the 30 Day Shred which is 25 minutes. Love that DVD.

Nope. That's the only time I take a break from exercising. I want my body to save it's energy to fight off the cold.

No, no, no. When I get a cold (normally a sinus infection), it usually knocks me out so not only can I not breathe, I am also way too out of it to even think about running.

I'd rather take a nap and give my body the rest it needs. But if it's a cold that lasts for like a week then I'll be working out in the latter part of that week.
