Would You Exercise on Your Honeymoon?

A Do or a Don't: Working Out on Your Honeymoon

Part of the honeymoon's appeal is relaxation, especially if you've just spent months planning a wedding. If you've been trying to eat right and stay in shape before the big day, you might just want to let loose in more ways than one. I've got some suggestions for how to stay healthy on your honeymoon, but I'm curious: would you (or did you) work out on your honeymoon, or would you rather just incorporate active excursions into your travel itinerary? Or does a honeymoon mean taking a vacation from fitness entirely?

Wouldn't wild honeymoon sex count as a work-out?

I didn't exactly "work out" on our honeymoon - I wasn't really into exercise back then, but we did a lot of walking and hiking and swimming, so even if I had been into working out, I would have considered that my exercise for the day.

Our honeymoon was in the middle of the jungle in Costa Rica - everything we did was physical. I can't imagine just sitting on the beach the whole time.

I did...we took our honeymoon at a small cabin in the woods and every day I went on a trail run and jumped rope to get a good workout in. Plus we did a lot of hiking and kayaking, so it was definitely a very active honeymoon.

I wasn't in a healthy place on my honeymoon, I didn't work out at home, let alone on vacation. But I totally would now! It makes me feel good!

I'm not a lazy vacationer, so no, but not gym work outs. Like the others, I end up walking many miles and doing fun activities. When I was in Europe for 3 weeks, I lost 5 pounds even though I ate dessert every day

I like to splurge on food I wouldn't otherwise eat when on vacation, so I like to exercise as well to even it all out. Plus, to me, doing yoga and running around a new city = vacation.

Why not?

I wouldn't go to the gym every morning, but if it's something fun like diving or exploring your location, why not?

I wouldn't rule out workouts . . . my husband and I like to jog together, so I don't see why we wouldn't do that if we wanted to. I usually tend to be pretty active on vacation, though, so with all the snorkeling, hiking, swimming, walking, etc., we didn't really add any workouts while we were on our honeymoon. And I don't think I would have ditched him to work out; I'd only do it if he wanted to.
