9 Celebrities Who Can't Get Enough of the Keto Diet

The ketogenic diet is everywhere and anywhere right now! It's just one of those diets that gets both a lot of love and a lot of hate. People on keto swear by the diet for dropping pounds, and those not on keto are confused how all the butter hasn't gotten to anyone's heart yet. It's pretty simple. The truth is that not all fats are created equally, and if you are eating the right kind and amount, you can burn fat and build muscle on this diet.

In fact, keto has gotten so much attention in the last year that even celebrities have been jumping on the high-fat train. It's been the secret to unleashing the powerful body for Tomb Raider, the key to leaning down before walking down the Victoria's Secret runway, and the secret weapon to winning the NBA Championship. Now, although the keto diet may not sound very sustainable — because who can skip out on bread and pizza and pasta for the rest of their life? — the idea of having a low-carb, high-fat diet is more than reasonable. The ketogenic diet is meant to be practiced as a lifestyle, and that is why these celebrities are all for the hype around it.

After having three kids, Kourtney Kardashian is now in the best shape of her life, and she breaks it all down in her app. She has a post where she gives all the juicy details on how she practices a low-carb, high-fat diet. Although she never labeled herself as keto, her carb intake was low enough to transition her body into burning fat rather than sugar.

A typical breakfast for her is avocado pudding, and the rest of her meals include a main source of protein and lots of cooked veggies or a salad. She also tries to fast one day of the week, only consuming liquids like apple cider vinegar and bone broth.

What a lot of people don't know about Halle Berry is that she is a type 2 diabetic, so she has always put her health first and foremost. She writes on her Instagram, "Being diabetic most of my life, I have always had to take food very seriously. So for years, I have been following the keto or ketogenic diet."

To Halle, it's not a diet, though. It's a lifestyle. She credits keto for helping her lose the baby belly and controlling her appetite, and she says it helped with her skin and physical endurance. And she has no plans to stop eating a high-fat diet anytime soon.

In 2017 on the Rachael Ray Show, Vanessa Hudgens said, "I think that we've been brainwashed to think that fat is bad, but really, it's what's going to make you feel fuller longer. And your body can burn it and use it as fuel."

After having to gain 20 pounds for a movie role, Vanessa was able to jump right back to her normal weight, all through keto. She cut out carbs, dairy, and refined sugar and focused on eating real whole foods.

Athletes are known to be on really high-carb diets, but what would happen if they changed the game around and went on a high-fat, low-carb kick? Determined to bring a championship to Cleveland, LeBron needed to perform at his peak.

He dedicated himself to a 67-day Paleo and ketogenic diet focused around meat, fish, lots of vegetables, and low-sugar fruits occasionally, according to Sports Illustrated. To LeBron, the ketogenic diet was a test of his mental fortitude and willpower. He wanted to prove to himself that he can get the results he wants to see.

Victoria's Secret models are known for their crazy diets, but Adriana Lima keeps it simple and keeps it keto. Her plan is a lot more strict than how others practice keto, though.

"Definitely zero carbs for sure," Adriana told The Cut. Low-carb was not an option for the model. It was either all in or nothing. She sticks to the basics, like protein shakes and bars, throughout the day, and her meals are veggies and a source of protein that can only be steamed or grilled. Even in choosing her veggies she is picky, and she tries to avoid more starchy options like carrots.

First Kourtney Kardashian and now Megan Fox! Both had three kids and are looking amazing, thanks to the keto diet. Megan has been practicing keto for so long that, at this point, she is repulsed by the sight of bread. Shocking.

But she's feeling better than ever, and it only took her body about a week to adjust. She chooses to practice the keto diet as a lifestyle because carbs didn't make her body feel good, she told E! News in 2014. Fat is Megan's choice fuel for the day — every day!

This mama followed the trail of her sister Kourtney after having her first son, Saint, hopping onto the low-carb bandwagon. She kissed all carbs goodbye and was able to drop over 60 pounds of fat by consuming a diet rich in fats!

Following a diet that her trainer, Melissa Alcantara, created for her, Kim now sticks to whole foods that will make her body feel good, inside and out. She kicked all the crap out of her house, anything that's processed, Melissa told People! That's just the sacrifice she was willing to make to get stronger.

This star from Jersey Shore has been getting a lot of attention for his transformation, which he credits to the keto diet. He's even coined himself as the Keto Guido and has an entire Instagram dedicated to his journey.

To Vinny, the keto diet has become a lifestyle, and he has no plans of going back to his old diet. Even if he doesn't have time to hit the gym, he says the keto way of eating won't get you fat. You just have to be consistent with it for at least two months to really see results and get your body used to it.

If you're going to act as Lara Croft, Tomb Raider, there's no question about it: you're going to have to unleash your greatest strength. Alicia Vikander was extremely disciplined and was not allowed to let her carb intake surpass 25 grams, her trainer, Magnus Lygdback, told POPSUGAR. This means she had to monitor and even limit the amount of vegetables she was consuming, especially the more starchy ones.

In addition to following the ketogenic diet, Alicia got her ripped body for the movie by doing things like lifting and strength training. The keto diet may just be the key to unlocking an eight-pack of abs.
