We shared lobster bisque as an appetizer, and unfortunately, it wasn't properly cooked,or else it was left out, because within about 6 hours, I had massive stomach upset, was getting up every 15 minutes to RUN to the bathroom. That was soon followed by a 102 degree fever and chills. What's worse is that following morning was our flight back home. Have you ever had to be up and down every 15 minutes in a tiny 2x2 airplane bathroom? My husband's symptoms started about 3 hours after mine, and we were both down for 2 days. We couldn't even hold down water. It was doctor confirmed. We called Del Monaco, just to let them know what had happened. They ended up sending an 85.00 giftcard, which we used at the Del Monaco in Orlando. We had no problems that time. I'm sure it was a fluke, but it was HORRIBLE! Spectra 4 years We vacationed at a resort in Mexico and I ate a lot of seafood and ceviche (not sure what I was thinking on that one, lol). I ended up with a case of E. coli that started up just as I got home. A quick round of antibiotics got rid of it, but I lost 10 lbs very quickly when I had it and it was NOT fun. ticamorena 4 years yes, this year for the first time whilst vacationing in spain. my mum who cooked the incriminating foodstuff was wholly and solely responsible. after my grandma had concluded that some fish had to either be cooked that night or it would go bad and be thrown away, all sense was tignored, said fish was cooked, and the morning of my flight from Asturias to Barcelona via a 6hr transit in Madrid was market by bouts of vomiting, diarrhea, nausea and the sweats. the blame was placed on some tinned fish (c'mon, the spanish produce the highest standard tinned foods known to mankind) and i normally have a rock solid stomach (growing up in africa will do that to you). i was shocked, as was my entire family, that nobody else eating this fish got food poising, yeah. nikks 4 years One the way back from the Philippines. I was sitting in business class and it was time for dinner. I dont know why, but I ended up ordering fish? Haha! And after awhile I started not feeling good. It was to the point where I was sweating, my head was hurting and spinning, and i felt like i needed throw up. Thank God I didnt. Oh and during that time we were going to land in like 20 mins.. and I can see the Bay Area from my window seat and the whole entire time Im like... HURRRRRY UP AND LAND hahahahah! cas I couldnt take it any longer. worst evaaar! hahaha. muse2323 4 years Well, I did get a nasty case of staph infection once when I was little, and the doctors & my mom thought I got it from a fast food birthday party I'd been to the weekend before... But the Christmas right after we got married, my husband got shellfish poisoning from the traditional oyster stew we have on Christmas Eve. We're pretty sure that's what it was; no one else got sick--and happily, he was okay after a few days. juicebox07 4 years Never, and I am truly thankful. limelindsey 4 years I got food poisoning from Totino's Party Pizza. I seriously thought I was going to die. My friend emailed an article to me the next day telling me all about the Totino's recall, etc. I haven't had one since. fuzzles 4 years When I was in high school, a bunch of my gal pals packed a car and boogied on over to Hardee's for hot ham and cheese sandwiches. We all got worms. WORMS! It was beyond awful! dreamalittledream 4 years Food poisoning is horrible. I lost 10 lbs in 3 days when I was sick stellaRuby 4 years My husband and about 75% of his family got sick last weekend @ the Christmas party. I am a germaphobe, so I did not eat anything, since I did not know who and how it was prepared, so I escaped it. SusanTeufel 4 years I had food poisoning from a new chinese place that opened....it was horrible...I felt like death.
