ABC's The Chew Trailer

Sneak Peek of The Chew, ABC's New Daytime Food Show

Today, ABC announced that The Chew, its new daytime lifestyle show, will air live beginning Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. EDT. The series, which replaces the soap opera All My Children, will feature an eclectic mix of hosts, including Italian cooking icon Mario Batali, Iron Chef Michael Symon, Top Cheftestant Carla Hall, entertaining expert Clinton Kelly, and healthy cookbook author (and Dr. Oz progeny) Daphne Oz.

The show will offer everything from "cooking and home entertaining to food trends, restaurants, holidays, and more," the release reveals. Based on the trailer, it appears to offer plenty of flashy smiles and overly enthusiastic camaraderie. In the video, Daphne adds, "It's all about food, but it's about dishing, really." And, according to Mario, pop culture, music, and family, too. Check out the trailer below. Does The Chew look exciting to you?

There is absolutely NOTHING amazing about this show. Well I take it back....its amazing that anyone would think the viewers want to watch a food show. It's amazing that ABC thinks we'd rather watch this then AMC. What wont' be amazing is when this show fails because no one cares about it. Oh and we all know that people who are "excited" are all associated with the show in some way. This show is going to fail. Mark my words :)

I wish the chefs luck on THE FOOD CHANNEL unless Brian Frons can cancel that channel(as he is cancelling SOAPNET). NO, I will never watch the chew or revolution. They are an insult to women-stop watching soaps and get in that kitchen and cook(the chew) and to make sure you don't get fat here is a diet show(the revolution).

The people on the show do not appear exciting, rather, people trying too hard. I will not watch but will boycott the sponsors of the show. I am a soap fan and will watch Y&R at 11', local news at 12', B&B at 12:30, Days at 1' and GH at 2. That fills my day and satisfies my soap tastes. I do not have time to tune in to a stupid food reality show. I never watched B&B before and only watched Days on Soapnet but I can get use to it. I will watch for AMC and OLTL online. The hell with ABC. I will continue to watch GH because the network is just looking for a reason to ax it. I hope soap fans will not let that happen. Just boycott everything else on ABC. Make the network feel the pain of losing its viewing audience.

No, it doesn't look exciting. I'm actually appalled at the ABC's cancellations of All My Children and One Life to Live for this hackneyed tripe. I'll follow All My Children and One Life to Live where ever they end up. They'll be continuing online, and hopefully on cable. Soap fans, please participate in the campaign for a new cable soap network that will air our soaps once SoapNET is gone. For details: I won't be watching the replacement shows. Since the news of All My Children and One Life to Live's cancellations, I dropped watching ABC all together, aside from the three soap operas. I thought it would be difficult, but it actually wasn't hard at all. Soaps are something special. I look for good storytelling in my TV shows, and the replacement shows won't provide that. I like cooking, but I've never learned anything from a food show. They're frankly mindless. If you miss an episode of a food show, there's no loss or feeling of "what did I miss?" If I want a recipe, then I look them up online, or in a recipe books--I don't look for recipes on TV. I look to TV for entertainment, and soaps provide entertainment. It's a shame that ABC doesn't realize that they're losing a loyal audience that they will never gain back.

Completely agree with Lizzie ... Carla Hall is the reason to watch this show. I also love Clinton Kelly, so he's reason #2. Can't wait!
