It's so true. My sister is actually starting her own Jam company because she's become obsessed with making jam! www.halfpintharvest.com for the curious. She's having a blast documenting all her jam making adventures.

I'm not surprised someone made it big on frozen french fries. I used to buy them until I figured out how easy it is to cut a potato into strips, toss them with some olive oil, and bake them in the oven until they're crispy. Much, much cheaper, too. I'm saving some money doing my own homemade french fries now.

The article about family's coping with the rising cost of food reminded me of this article by NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5005952 I really loved the pictures of a week's worth of groceries for families from different countries. Maybe you could do a post on the article, Yum?
