Blue Apron Wine Delivery

Yes! The Wine Delivery Service of Your Dreams Finally Exists

It's 2015 and things are pretty advanced, so it's about time we had a doorstep wine delivery service, right? All hail Blue Apron, the meal delivery startup that's making it happen. The company is officially delivering wine with a new subscription-based service called Blue Apron Wine (naturally).

Here's how it works: If you sign up for the monthly service, you'll get six bottles of wine delivered to your door. Here's the catch: each bottle is 500 milliliters — about three and a half glasses of wine (or two-thirds the size of a standard 750 milliliter bottle). That may be a nice perk if you're not wanting to drink more than two glasses of wine on a weeknight. The delivery costs $66 plus tax, and shipping is included. That comes to about $11 per bottle, which, unless you're still buying Two-Buck Chuck, is likely close to the cost of the wine you're already buying.

"With Blue Apron Wine, we're able to give our home chefs access to wines from esteemed independent vineyards," Matthew Wadiak, COO and cofounder of Blue Apron, said in a statement. "Pairing and tasting wine can be intimidating. Our goal is to educate our home chefs, and make enjoying a great glass of wine with dinner fun and easy."
