Can You Name That Herb?

Though distinct in flavor and smell, many herbs are the same shape, size, and color. When I first learned how to cook, I had a hard time distinguishing between Italian parsley and cilantro. However, now I can identify an herb simply by looking at it. Can you identify herbs? To find out take my quiz. I've found images of herbs, and you have to name them. Sound fun? Get started!

Pretty sure #4 is not dill. That looks like no dill I've ever seen...or grown, for that matter.

Yes, that dill looked too "solid". Maybe it's a weird variety.

I agree with everyone else on the dill. Fresh dill to me is...hairier? Does that sound right? Like it should be thinner and more like a frond. Eh, hard to explain, I guess. I've never seen yellow oregano, that's for sure.

I got into using fresh herbs in Oxford, where my college had some growing in the quad. You just had to make sure you got the ones from furthest away from the path, lest you bore the brunt of a drunken undergraduate's decidedly anti-gardening activities.

Got all but oregano. It's the one herb that I've never used fresh.

Woo-hoo 6/7!!! That last one threw me off! Not too bad for a girl that never uses fresh herbs.

My mom has grown half of these herbs in our backyard for as long as I can remember. She also has several different types of chilies growing on bushes on our patio.
