Carrying Food From Kitchen to Kitchen? Label Everything

When preparing for my birthday dinner last week, I started cooking the food on Thursday, but planned to transport it to my grandfather's house (the site of the party) on Friday. To ensure that I wouldn't forget a crucial ingredient, I labeled everything I needed to take with a purple Post-it. Sure, it was a little obsessive compulsive, but when I opened my crowded fridge, it was easy for me to see what items were supposed to be packed. Also, it made sure my mission was accomplished: I didn't end up forgetting anything! What is your secret for remembering ingredients?

I use the post-it technique to remind myself of what to throw out on garbage day. If a container of yogurt goes moldy, I don't want to throw it in the trash can to start rotting, so I put a post-it "TRASH" on it, so I remember to toss it on garbage day!

Susan- I would be happy to send the hubby over to fix your fridge. He also does cabinets. Only catch... you have no say where things go! It has to be logical to him (not you).

Lists lists lists.....plus I start a bag for anything that doesn't need to be refrigerated and just keep adding to it.

I put all the ingredients I'll need into a plastic bag and leave the whole bag in the fridge. Then when I have to grab it, it's all together.

I group it all in bags on one shelf if possible and always have a master list that I check off dutifully.BTW,Party your fridge is quite a party! My hubby would have stroke of over your poor shelf arrangement. LOL! I will show him that there are others out there that don't think it wrong to have beverages and regular food on the same shelf! and I also prefer your alcohol to non alcohol beverage ratio!

I group everything on the same shelf (even dry ingredients!). My fridge isn't ususally crowded, so that works for me.
