Come Party With Me: Tailgate — The Look

Get your team spirit on when planning the look of a tailgate. I always cheer on my alma mater (Go Bears!), so blue and gold are the featured colors. Start by setting up a long folding table near the back of your car. In my case, I'll cover the table with a blue tablecloth and set out a vase of yellow gerbera daisies. Yellow paper plates and napkins are festive and easy to clean up. Serving the dips in a snack helmet is sure to get your guests talking. Arrange chairs in a circle around your tailgating area. Temporary tattoos make a fabulous favor. How do you decorate for a tailgate?

i think that tailgating can be fun if you set it up right and you've really given us a great design to do it. i'm used to going places with a whole bunch of guys who are more about getting wasted than getting into the experience so at least i can do something to make it a bit more fun for me :)

I use reusable plastic picnic dishes...you bring a large tupperware container, and put all the dirty dishes in them when you're done. It's sealed air-tight so no food smells saturate your car during the game, and you don't worry about cleaning anything until the next morning. [Also, I always bring a garbage bag for any beer/Coke cans and bottles -- gotta take them home to recycle.] The plastic dishes not only end up looking a lot classier, but it's way more eco-friendly. A suggestion for next time over the paper plates and tablecloths!
