The font I used is the same throughout the invitation: Edwardian Script ITC. The J&S at the top are size 48, bold.

I just went back and was looking through this for some ideas for my engagement party invites -- what font did you use for the J&S at the top? I like the swirly ampersand!

Beautiful invitations. BTW, I love how the nail polish matches the ribbon! "Party like a rock star, pound like a porn star, play like an all star!"

Oh wow, those look really nice -- want to make about 100 more of them? ;) Thanks for the ideas Party, if only I had the time to do everything by hand. But you have definitely given me some good suggestions!

I had enough things on my plate without having to make 160 invitations as well! Whew. Exhausts me just to think about it. One great idea is to sign up for a lot of bridal catalogs and whatnot and then cut out or mark the different things that you like. Pick a couple of invitations that you love and search for them on the internet and see what's cheapest!

Does anyone have any tips for stationary companies that are "affordable" (aka cheap)?

Ooo, two more invite tips! First, make sure you weigh your invite to make sure you have the right amount of postage on each evelope. You don't want them coming back to you unless it is the response card. :) This is also really important if you don't want to pay more than 39 cents (or 41) for each envelope. Second, I wouldn't recommend square cards. They look cute, but you need extra postage to mail them.

Very pretty Party! You are right about creating or buying the right invites because they truly do set the tone of a wedding. I would also tell brides to think outside the box with their invites. Just because no one has done it before, doesn't mean it's against etiquette. ALSW, I know it seems like a lot of work but once you get started making your own invites it isn't that hard. Plus, you get others to help you if you create one that has a lot of steps! :)

Wow. That's a lot of work. I went the simple route and had almost everything premade - other than hotel directions - and I loved what I got!
