Culinary Resolutions

Let's Dish: What Are Your Culinary Resolutions This Year?

It's that wonderful time of year where we get excited for all the magnificent things we're going to accomplish. Aside from the expected health, financial, and personal resolutions, I like to set culinary resolutions every year. This year I'm planning to make as many things from scratch as possible, instead of buying them from the store — especially bread. It'll be a year of great gastronomic adventures. What about you? What are your culinary resolutions this year? Share them in the comments.

I love the "stop being afraid of yeast" resolution. Mine should be the same: stop being afraid of bread and yeast. Oh, and cook more ethnic foods.

Last year, my resolution was to cook at least two new recipes every month. I thought it would be easy but it's harder than I thought! I did it though!! My food resolution this year is to stop being so afraid of yeast. I NEVER use it. I'd like to be able to make bread that isn't banana bread.

Try as many "new" recipes from the cookbooks I already own!

Branch out more, and not just keep doing the same old standbys. But to keep it cheap, not things with a hundred ingredients. :)

To continue to learn about new foods and unique ways to prepare them. It's such an enjoyable process, and one with no end in sight. Ever. :woohoo:

Hahaha, mine is to bake less and cook real food more. It's not good when there are a few dozen cookies lying around for me to eat...
