Did You Think Ramsay's First Kitchen Makeover Was A Success?

Did You Think Ramsay's First Kitchen Makeover Was A Success?

Did you watch Kitchen Nightmares last night? I used to think that Ramsay was a complete and total bastard but compared to Peter, the manager of last night's restaurant, Ramsay is as sweet as a lamb. Didn't Peter remind you of a mean gorilla? What did you think of the makeover? Did you think it was a success?

I think you are right bereagirl on the scripted part....i was thinking that when i was watching it. Compared to the Brit version, it didn't measure up. But that makes sense because here in the US we thrive on drama in a reality-type show.

The show was scripted. It was terrible. I love Gordon, but this show was silly.

Did anyone else find Peter's reformation a little abrupt? I'm not convinced it's real....but so far a fantastic show. Does anyone have any scoop on what Julia's doing now?

Show was amazing. Peter and his clueless family will destroy the restaurant, however.

Well, of course he'd be more comfortable over in the UK. And I haven't seen the BBC one but I bet it IS more realistic like you say it is. I bet the restaurants aren't half as bad as here. I'm sure Ramsay knows what to expect over there. In the US, it's all about entertainment value, everything else goes to pot.

I didn't enjoy it as much as the version on BBC. Ramsay's more himself, and the situations are more realistic on the BBC version. I enjoyed last night's show, but not incredibly so.

:ROTFL: My favorite part was at the end when Peter said he'd name his son Gordon Ramsay Pellagrino!!! I thought it was a great first show. It's funny though how the commercials leading up to the premiere made it look like Peter was going to fight with Gordon. I'm hooked for the season.

Oh yeah, the show was top-notch. Can't wait for next week. I'd love to visit one of his restaurants someday. Thing about Brits that I've noticed is that they have a rep for being prim and proper but really, they've very upfront and honest. I prefer than than the American people in the media who act all sweet in front of the public's eye and are shady behind doors.

I LOVE Chef Ramsay. He is amazing, he really cares about people and that was evident from when he promised to help Julia from last season become a great chef. He's only hard on them because he expects only the best because he IS the best. He's not a jerk or a bastard, I've got much respect for that guy. Plus, he's hilarious! It's like Simon Cowell, I detested him during AI season 1 because he was so harsh and seemingly uncaring. After that season I realized that that guy knows what he's talking about and that's why he's the best at what he does, recognizing talent. I also heard that he's really nice in person and never refuses to take pictures or give autographs. Simon is cool.

It's hard to say. I think as long as Peter sticks around that restaurant will always have potential problems. I would like to congratulate Fox though on managing to find an utter stereotype of a family to set off the season. ;) I'll definitely watch the show. I liked the BBC version, and this one seems even sweeter since they're kicking in new kitchens. I bet the British restaurants will be a bit steamed that his show never did that for them. Ramsay, to me, is like Jekyll and Hyde. He seems like a fairly nice guy when he's not in charge of a kitchen.

I liked the show! It definitely had more drama than the BBC version, but it wasn't too over the top like I thought it would be. I did like him redoing their kitchen for them as he didn't do that for the BBC versions. Nice touch! I will definitely be watching this one along with the original.
