Do You Cook With a Wok?

Some serious pizza tools aren't the only items I've been coveting for my kitchen; lately, AlexisSF has been raving about her wok, and it's making me want one, too. Do you own one?

My husband is the wok master in our house. It is very messy, though. I always have to clean the floor after because it gets so slippery.

Used to cook with a wok on the occasion. Sort-of strayed away and went to a deep steel frying pan instead. A bit easier use since we no longer have a range stove (electric) and the cooking temp can be iffy on electric and somewhat awkward to handle.That said, I still feel that if you can use a wok to cook your stir-fries, etc, to do so. The meal comes out quite yummy.

No. I don't like to cook with a wok, as it splatters oil and cooking juice (in a fine spray) everywhere. I love a good stir-fry, but it can get messy. I find that I have to thoroughly wipe down the stove, fan, counter tops afterwards.

I had one that I used over my electric burner, but I wasn't crazy about it--using my large skillet was easier and more efficient, and I can't use it on my glass-top stove now anyway. If I had a gas stove, I might want one.

I used to, but I haven't recently. I read that unless you have a burner that's designed for a wok (with the appropriate shape and heat), you're not going to get an even cooking temperature. So I do all my stir-frying in a regular skillet.

I have an electric wok that I use fairly often. It also does double duty as my deep fryer.

no wok, but i have a large, deep frying pan which works fine for anything i cook
