I don't drink brown sodas only things like sprite and I never do diet. To me it's just a waste. If I'm going to have the liquid calories then I may as well just do it with something great tasting. P.S.- I actually only rarely drink soda these days. When I go to a restaurant I will have soda but at home it's water and juice.

I've not had soda for over a year now and it's made a difference on my health so I'm going to stick to having a soda-free diet.

I treat soda like candy and the same way I don't have candy every day or in large amounts, I don't drink soda every day, especially not instead of green tea or water. But every once in a while, like one day a week, I buy a bottle of Dr. Pepper or Vanilla Coke and I love it. If there would be a diet version, I would probably buy it, but here in Germany there are not that many diet sodas, maybe people don't buy them as much. Only a few years ago, we didn't even have Dr. Pepper or Vanilla Coke, fortunately I live right on the boarder to the Netherlands, where there are more American products available.

HFCS is just as bad as aspartame in my opinion. I drink diet, but since I flavored sparkling water, I rarely drink soda anymore.

I can't consume aspartame--it gives me migraines and makes me nauseous. On a trip to Chicago last year, I got really drunk on the train and let someone fix me a tanqueray and crystal light (I must have been wasted--I can't believe I let them do that to the tanqueray) and it made me so sick I gave myself a black eye vomiting. I might have been sick from the alcohol anyway, but I've never been so violently sick in my life. I thought I was going to die.So, although I test myself with diet Pepsi or diet Dr. Pepper every once in a while just to see if the sensitivity has worn off, I drink (too much) regular Coke or Kosher Coke when I can get it.

A thought on both diet and regular...DID You Know?Better Nutrition Feb 2007- Soda may increase osteoporosis in womenDrinking soda, even diet and decaf versions, has been linked to an increased risk of osteoporosis, revealed the longest-running population study in existence. Caffeine is a risk factor for osteoporosis, while phosphoric acid, found in cola drinks, interferes with calcium absorption. The Framingham Heart Study, which followed more than 2,500 men and women for 30 years, found that women who drank soda daily had low bone mineral density than those who drank it once per month. Osteoporosis and bone fractures affect 40 percent of women and 13 percent of men. However, male study participants showed no relationship between soda consumption and lower bone mineral density.

I gave up soda a few months ago with the exception of when I drink, which isn't often. When I do, I'll have Captain and Diet Pepsi or Island Breeze Coconut and Diet Pepsi.

I'm the same as the first comment. I'd rather drink the sugar than the chemicals they put in the diet drinks. But, currently, I'm a water and tea (ginger root or green) drinker.

When I actually do drink soda, I either opt for diet coke or regular sprite. Regular coke is too sugary for me, I HATE the way it makes my teeth feel. But I don't get that feeling from sprite.

Pleeeeease give my reggie coke or cherry reggie. like food artificial sweetners taste a little funny to me and kinda make me run in the other direction or to the bathroom which ever comes first. furthermore if i want to cut my sugars or caffine intake I think I will drink plain old water and splurge and have one soda for the week, but a big one , like a liter! Yeah that sounds quite good to me!

in reading the comments here i find it odd that so many don't see high fructose corn syrup (primary sweetener in any "regular" soda bottled in the US) as an artificial sweetner. it's every bit as artificial as aspertame or sucrolose.
