Do You Eat Truck Food?

This year street food has gone sophisticated. In San Francisco alone there are countless food trucks that sell everything from creme brulee to gourmet hot dogs — there's even a golf cart that delivers cupcakes! Reuter's covered the trend over the long weekend stating that both "entrepreneurs looking for opportunities in the recession and diners seeking cheap eats" are cause for the increase in mobile dining options. While I've enjoyed a bacon-wrapped hot dog from a more traditional food truck, I've yet to try some of the more culinary offerings. How about you?

I have not bought food from a truck since Dave's taco back in Bakersfield Ca. since the 90's it was sooooo good! Now I just look at some of the folks working behind the counter and I just can't do it!!! But if I was out late (which is never) had too much to drink and was starving maybe I would.

I used to eat it when I lived in Madison, but in the tiny podunk city I live in now, we have NO trucks that sell food. I miss it.

It all depends on what I see going on in the truck. We have so many around here: crepes, Japanese street food, tacos, falafel, sushi, etc.

Truck food for lunch while I was at MIT was essential for survival.

Rarely. There's a currywurst truck nearby that I have stopped by on a few occasions.

i don't - but more so because most of the truck food that's near my office is meat and i'm a veggie. there are a lot of the carts that have long lines during the day so 'im sure that they are good...

We have tons of taco trucks in California, at least five in my town. Most people I know love them. I rarely get food from the taco truck, and if I do it's because someone else wanted to go. Their quesadillas are pretty yummy.

I would, except the only truck food near me is the really skeezy "coffee truck" that comes all around the giant complex where I work. It sells pizza and hot dogs and hamburgers, and they all look really gross. I would definitely try something off the trucks in NYC or LA though.

Not in a while.

Very rarely. I usually bring my own lunch or eat out. I didn't know it was sophisticated nowadays to do so, though! LOL.

I don't think I would want to do that. I don't see many of those anyway except when I'm speeding by them to a proper restaurant. I keep hearing that this mexican one downtown is pretty good though. It's always crowded they say.

I don't think I've ever seen one in person -- aside from the ubiquitous ice cream truck.

Chip truck once in a while, but usually if I'm getting food on the sidewalk it's from a streetmeat cart (like, the guy with a tent around his barbecue, not an actual truck)... Nothing like bbq'd veggie dogs after a long night of drinking lol
