Nope. Don't have one, cause I'm the dishwasher. Haha.
yes we have one and I do use it a lot when I have guests over or dirty a lot of pots and pans. But for just us, its usually a plate or two and a couple of glasses so I just wash in the sink and dry.
Never had one growing up, but have had one ever since college. I guess my poor roots still harvest in me...I will NEVER put a food covered gloopy dish inside my dishwasher. :)
My boyfriend and I didn't have one for the first few years we lived together. We actually fought over who would do the dishes. When we had to go apartment hunting it was a must that there be a dishwasher. Now we don't fight, and I'm not sure what I would do with out that thing! What a life saver!
yes i do have one - but it's soo tiny! i think that when i lived by myself - it didn't matter much to me if i had one or not since i dont use that many dishes, but my fiance cooks A LOT and there's always so much in our sink that he has to run the dishwasher otherwise it would take us forever!
About the comment that its a waste of water. In all of the research i have seen you use less water with a dishwasher than you would washing dishes by hand.
Yes, but it's not installed yet! We bought it and are in the middle of tearing out cabinets to install it. I can't wait for it to be installed!
Yes, I love my dishwasher.
nope...its a waste of water and energy
I grew up without a working dishwasher, so my chore was to wash the dishes every night, which i really didn't mind. Then the first apartment i moved into during college had a dishwasher. I didn't know how much soap to put in it; I ended up putting in wayyyy too much and soap flooded out all over the kitchen floor! I was too embarrassed to ask my roommate how to work it, and haven't touched it since hahah.
No, but I wish I did.
I love having a dishwasher. Mine isn't brand new but it's energy efficient and doesn't need a lot of pre-rinsing, which to me if you need to scrub them before it defeats the purpose of a dishwasher. Definitly cuts down cleaning time, leaving more time for cooking and loving.
Me. :( (I count my blessings though.. with a toddler things get tight, though, financially.. I'm doing better than most mothers I see my age.. but one day, I will have everything. Things can only go UP from here!:))
Before when it was just me living on my own, it wasn't really necessary b/c I used, like, A dish every day and then just washed it and used it again. But now that I live with my fiance, we actually cook stuff and use pots, pans, and whatnot, but we have no dishwasher. :( And our hot water is REALLY HOT and there is no in-between temperature. My poor hands.
Yes, thank God! It's old, and requires a LOT of rinsing, but dishes are the one chore that I absolutely hate and refuse to do, so it's a total lifesaver. When the dishwasher broke last year, I told my boyfriend that it was either plastic kitchenware, or he could do the dishes. We ate off of plastic plates for a month.
Yes and it is running as I type. Love my dishwasher even though I was pots and pans by hand.
Absolutely and I can't live without it. Okay, I *could* but, given the choice and convenience, you betcha. Actually, we are remodeling our kitchen and just *upgraded* from a stand alone/portable model to an under counter installed model. Wheeee! It's such a treat to be able to get a glass of water WHILE the dishwasher is running! And it is sooooooo much quieter - like you can't even hear it running and we bought a pretty middle of the road model. If anyone wants our old portable - we're selling it on Craigslist! ;)
We have one, and we use it a lot which is surprising. But it's pretty old and poorly designed so that it's hard to get a lot of dishes in there. And it doesn't work that well - it flings goop on some dishes and then the goop hardens during the drying phase - nasty! So we end up doing some of the stuff that was "cleaned" in the dishwasher by hand. I wish I had a newer model! But even though it's far from perfect, I'm glad to have a dishwasher at all since it does save time overall.
I'm looking to buy a new one to fit in my kitchen that we're renovating. Any suggestions on what brand??? Stainless steel and reasonably priced please... its so hard to choose which one will be a good fit!
YES! I go through an absurd amount of dishes. Seriously. When I cook a lot I may have to run it once a day or once every other day. And that's just for 2 people! The dishwasher is actually the only thing I am really picky about in the kitchen. There is a right way to load it. My DH is still learning.
YES oh for the love of all that is tasty yes but only like a month ago the 9+ years before that I was the dishwasher til I finally asked my hubby "how much would you spend to have me NEVER ask you to do the dishes again?" his answer "lets go look"
I have Bosch also and it doesn't waste more water as others have stated, it just the opposite BUT hubby still hand washes the good stuff.
i just use it for storing cups lol
A true Godsend and I don't know if I'd manage without it. Growing up, my parents never used theirs so I was used to hand washing. When it was just my husband and I, I liked washing the dishes and hardly used the dishwasher. Two kids later- it's my best friend. frogandprince- I actually think you use less water with a full load in the dishwasher.
We have one but its horrible. You have to basically wash the dishes before you put them in there which is pointless. I loved having one when I lived with my parents though. I can't stand washing dishes and watching them pile up. I wish ours worked better!
