Do You Like Turkish Delight?

As a child, I first saw Turkish delight, or lokum, in the BBC adaptation of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and I had to try it. It looked so strange and enticing! Ever since then, I've been a fan. The sugar-dusted, gummy, jelly-like cubes of candy are best fresh, so the only time I partake is when I find them at a legit candy shop. The rose water flavor is traditional, but too perfume-y for me; I prefer the fruit flavors. Some variations also have nuts. Have you tried it before? What did you think?

I've only ever tried the rose water one and it was awful!

Yes, I've tried it, and it was okay. Just like Yumsugar, I was curious about Turkish delight when I read about it in the book "The Lion, the Witch, and Wardrobe."

It kinda tastes like stickier, thicker Swedish Fish. The cover it in flour so it won't stick, so you also get a mouth full of flour with the jelly/sticky candy. It's not something I love, but the kind with nuts can be a nice "different" treat.

It's not very appealing whatsoever. I do not enjoy it. The taste is very interesting...but not in a good way.

I've never tried it, but I'm sort of curious as to how it tastes. I bet it's got an interesting flavor.
