Do You Put Tomatoes in Guacamole?

Guacamole was one of the first dishes I ever mastered. I've made it so many times that I rarely follow a recipe. Also, I change it up depending on my mood. Sometimes I'll use a lot of garlic and red onions. Other times I toss in green onions, etc. One thing that remains constant in my guacamole making, however, is the lack of tomatoes. For some reason, I prefer guacamole without tomatoes. How about you?

I put salsa in my guacamole but I also enjoy lime guacamole without tomatoes.

I've seen recipes with and without the tomatoes, but I always make mine without. My husband's not a huge fan of them in the guac, but I do usually put diced onions and garlic in mine.

It's so funny how people are so very fierce about guacamole recipes! Theirs is always the best. As is mine....WITH tomatoes! I think the more important question is with or without cilantro? If I'm making it myself, then NO cilantro. It has its uses but I feel like the strong flavor overpowers guacamole and makes it the only flavor you taste. I won't turn down guacamole ever though - so if someone else made it and it has cilantro...well I'll eat it but I'll secretly think about how mine is so much better!

NO TOMATOES!!! You've already got tomatoes in your salsa AND your pico de gallo!! Why would you want to screw up your guacamole with even more tomatoes??

I like it with tomatoes and red onion and cilantro, but my family is anti-tomato and onion, we we've been doing the pain version more lately.

I'm allergic to tomatoes so I'm on the Anti Tomato Team. I'd love a new guac recipe could you post yours.
