I used to be really good with chopsticks. And then I dated a Japanese guy, and he made fun of me and said I was doing it wrong. After that, I learned his way and was always shaky, which made him and his family giggle more. I got a better handle on it with the "right way," but I still hate that he did that.I didn't know about eating nigiri with fingers, though. That's an awesome tidbit of info!

ALWAYS use chopsticks. My husband will order rice & eat that with chopsticks also. After awhile you just pick it up & it's easy! :)

I don't know how I would eat sushi WITHOUT chopsticks. Then again, I use chopsticks most of the time these days.

i always use my chopsticks--unless i get the little "cones"--i can't think of what they are called right now. they look like seafood ice cream cones with different items shoved in it. they are delicious though. that's probably the only time i don't use chopsticks--well that and soup. ;-)

Depends on the sushi. If it's a really messy roll with stuff falling out all over the place, I'd just as soon use my fingers or a fork. Most other things though I'll use chopsticks for. I've gotten good with chopsticks, last night I ate my instant noodle bowl with chopsticks because they just work better for those.

I use chopsticks, but then I'll sometimes end up using a fork or my fingers, depending on what kind it is and how patient I am that day.

When I went to Japan last summer, no one used chopsticks to eat sushi. I try not to; I only resort to chopsticks when it gets too messy.
