Do It Yourself Photo Wine Glass Markers: Love It Or Hate It?

I consider myself a pretty crafty person: I love making collages, homemade cards, and fun little invitations. So when I came across this project on Craftzine to create your own drink markers and authentic photo framed wine glasses, I got super excited. It's recommended that you use random close up shots of your friends and family, but think about the endless possibilities! At a tropical party you could do pictures of lush beaches and serve sangria. During the winter holidays, shiny wrapping paper will be beautifully magnified for guests to see while they sip their Zin. Although, I love this idea and will most likely give it a whirl in the future, I'm a teeny bit skeptical. How can you wash the glasses? What happens when I tire of the pictures and want to change them? Will the glue leave a residue on my lovely stemware? How about you? What do you think? Do it yourself photo wine glass markers: love it or hate it?

it looks like something fun for a kids' party but why would you be serving drinks in wine glasses to 9 year olds? plastic cups all the way and get out the sharpie to write their names in case of confusion.

Eh I think it's kinda weird. I wouldn't want pictures of people at the bottom of my wine glasses.

Instead of permanently attaching the photos, why not make it temporary. Take laser outputs, trace the bottom of the glass, cut it out, cut acenter hole and cut a slit from the center hole to the outside edge. Same effect with out a lon-term commitment.

i think it's funny.. but i'd only do that with really close friends. other people might not get the humor in it and think i'm crazy for serving them like that..

Could be okay if it was solid colors or patterns, but I dont want to go a friends house and everytime i lift my wine glass i see a little kid.

It's kitsch but not practical in the long run. A little too Sandra Lee's Semi-Homemade for my taste.
