Easy Red Sangria Recipe

Cool Off With a Glass of Classic Red Sangria

Next time you're in a bind over what to serve at your impromptu grill-out, don't fret — just serve sangria. It's easy to make in advance, calls for ingredients you likely already have on hand, and accommodates anywhere from one to 100. Best of all, everyone — college kids, parents, men, and women alike — gravitate towards it (don't be surprised if your guests fly through those pitchers you made ahead of time).

Notes

This recipe works best with an off-dry wine that has notes of vanilla and clove, such as Lamatum's Ribera del Duero Crianza from Spain.

Easy Red Sangria

Ingredients

750-ml bottle red wine
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup brandy
1 apple, chopped
1 orange, chopped into bite-size pieces (peel on)
1 lemon, chopped into bite-size pieces (peel on)
1/2 cup club soda

Directions

In a carafe or pitcher, combine the wine with orange juice, brandy, and chopped fruit; cover and refrigerate for 6-8 hours. Just before serving, top with club soda and serve over ice.
