Giada De Laurentiis: Love Her or Leave Her?

While taking a look back at Giada De Laurentiis's culinary career, I realized how much I respect her.

I know some people think she's just a bobble head who bares all, but I happen to enjoy her show, Giada at Home and more importantly, I love her recipes! They are reliable, delicious, easy to follow, and make for some wonderful everyday Italian food.

Since today is her birthday tell me, how do you feel about the Food Network star?

I think she's ridiculous. Her food is ok, but I'm sorry, I'm Italian too and I don't go around pronouncing every Italian food obnoxiously: "par-mee-gian-aaa" "prosh-uuuuu-t-ooooo" No thank you and then, even worse, eith the editing of her cooking show or any show (the worst was the one where she traveled and ate) is watching her pretend to eat. Everything she cooks, she had to take a pretend nibble of and the camera holds on her while she chews and goes "mmmmmm" Ugh. Gag me. Just give me the recipes. If I'm looking for Italian food I look in a real cookbook or to a chef I trust, not her.

She says the words with the accent because she is Italian! Hello? Am I missing something here? I like her recipes because they're easy, fresh, and taste good. I'm not sure if she is behind developing the recipes or not since they aren't really creative but that is the point. Most of her dishes seem to be pretty straighforward but I do admire her for sharing easy recipes to follow. I've tried probably 10 of her recipes and 9 out of the 10 were solid and delicious. I would give her recipes a try and see if you agree or not before dismissing her. I do admit, she is a bit hard to watch, but she does have some talent...

I like her. I've never really been too inspired to make any of her recipes, but I do like watching her travel shows.

If I had boobs like that, I'd be wearing low cut shirts too! If you've got it, use it is what I say =] I do like her a lot - I think her recipes are well constructed and very easy to use in your own kitchen even for a beginner.

I love her. And the whole Italian words thing is natural in some people. From what I've heard, she is pretty close to her italian roots, she speaks it fluently and still visits there often and a lot of her immediate family is in Italy (from what she says) so maybe she is more used to those pronunciations then the "Americanized" ones. That said, she is a bobble head.

I love her! I like how her recipes are easy to make, but they usually turn out pretty yummy. Sometimes she's a bit obnoxious about how Italian she is, but whatever.

her recipes are all similar to each other. She would be more respectable if she actually filmed one show without a lowcut shirt (and personally, she wastes so much food when cutting up food). Lastly, dclsweetpot, you got it straight on. Mario Battali is Italian, you dont see him over-enunciating every italian words.
