My aunt was great at decorating cakes and ended up making most of my siblings and I's cakes when we were young kids. I had a barbie cake, not as awesome as these, but similar to the dress ones in about circa 1990. I was kinda freaked out about it...it wasn't a full barbie either. It actually made me throw up! I was 5... didn't know any better!

I made a Barbie cake for my friend's daughter's 6th birthday. I had never made one before and didn't really have a recipe, so I guessed at it. My cake wasn't tall enough (even after adding a few extra layer cakes on the bottom) so I cut Barbie off at the knees and wrapped her legs in plastic wrap. The cake looked great, but I went to great lengths to keep the amputated Barbie away from the children, lest they send me their therapy bills later in life. It was really hard to make, but everyone loved it!

I'll never forget a birthday party I went to, when I was little. The Mom made a big Barbie cake, like in the first picture, and she sent us all home with tiny versions of the cake. The tiny versions weren't Barbie but, they were so cute and thoughtful.

Those are cute. My daughter had a barbie cake like the one on the top row all the way over to the right. Except the doll was made to look like cinderella andit was blue. But those are cute. Every little girl should have one of those atleast once in her life.
