I'm lucky enough to work right next to my gym. So I eat brunch and use my lunch hour to do a quick cardio and lifting sesh. It helps me stay alert through the whole afternoon!

Two things. I drink a good amount of water each day but have a somewhat small waterbottle so I have to get up and fill it up often. But, I've also been known to close my door during conference calls and stretch in my office while it happens! Thank goodness for mute!

I recently got a new puppy, and my bosses graciously allow me to bring him to work, After lunch, around 1 or 2, I walk him to the nearby dog park and let him off-leash and just run and run, all around the park with him. It's great exercise for both of us, and he is happy to come back to the office and puppy-nap for most of the afternoon! Win-win!

4 speed walking rounds of the 3 row / figure 8 parking lot is 1000 steps x twice a day. Takes about 7.5 minutes each. Use the steep stairs, 2 flights of 12, up & down 8 or so times a day and well, the stress.... you can stay slim during the day.

When I have to work at the computer for a long time, I take breaks every ten minutes or so and walk around and stretch. It helps me focus on what I am doing, but also helps with keeping me from aching.

i work in a hospital lab, so I am on my feet all day. I try not to be too lazy by taking the stairs in the building and the parking garage, and walking to deliver messages rather then using the phone. I do admit it feels good to sit down at lunch!

The problem I have at work is staying hydrated so each morning I buy a bag of ice put it into a water cooler & make myself use it all day without any soft drinks at all.

I remodel houses. So staying active at work is not a problem believe me I do not set behind a desk all day.

I do little thing to stay in shape. But, I do them conti. Like when I eat a sandwich I always cut it into 4 pieces(it takes me longer to eat, so i fill-up eating less) or taking the stairs. Just little things all day long add up.

On my breaks and lunch I try to go for a walk and do stretches. I keep an extra pair of tennis shoes and workout clothes at work so I always have something to wear. If I have to leave work to do an errand I will walk instead of taking my car. I also try to drink water and red tea throughout the day. I always feel more energetic when I stay hydrated.

I try not to sit for more than 10-15 minutes @ a time -I get up, walk aound my building (inside) and @ least once a day I walk to the building next door. this in addition to picking up as many 20-40# toddlers as I can EVERYday :-)

I work at a desk like a lot of people, so I try to do stretches every hour to keep my neck, back, and shoulders from getting all out of whack. I also make sure to walk around the building once an hour, even if that means walking to a coworker's desk on a different floor rather than sending a quick email or calling on the phone. I try to keep from getting too stiff and tired from sitting so much. If they could raise the computer station, I'd happily stand to do a lot of my work too.

i bring a small cup to work and make sure that i'm constantly drinking water throughout the day, which means a lot of walking to and from the water fountain. it's not exactly strenuous, but it gets me up and moving when i usually wouldn't, AND i get a healthy amount of water consumption in

I replace my work chair w/a medicine ball half the time to sneak in some crunches during the day when no ones looking, and have two small hand weights that i use when i'm taking my 15 minute break. The energy i get from doing little mini workouts helps keep me going for the rest of the day w/out being tired.

I like to start my day off with a workout, usually a run. It wakes me up better then coffee ever could and gives me energy that lasts all day. Not to mention how clear headed and happier I feel

On my lunch break I love to go for a brisk walk. It helps clear my head and helps me relax as well as I get in a lot of exercise.

My job is physically demanding so I always feel as if I had a great work out after a long stretch of days. During down times like now while I'm sitting at my computer, I remember to take special notice of my posture. I read years ago if I pull my bellybutton back toward my spine, my abs are being tightened. It's also more comfortable to sit this way and my posture is great. People with good posture look more graceful and fit. I will also do some yoga type arm stretches if I am computing for long time periods. Thanks for all of the other great tips and input. There are many creative and healthy people who follow this site. XO

I always park in the back of the parking lot; a long walk in the morning is a good way to wake up and clear my head. I always take the stairs; pushing my heart rate up, even in the office! I never let myself get lazy; walking to a coworker's desk instead of emailing, walking to get lunch instead of driving. Fresh air as much as possible is usually the best policy.

I play indoor and outdoor soccer twice a week. I also hit a Zumba class at least once a week. I have been trying to work in the Insanity DVDS a couple days a week.
