It totally depends on the party. We have a fancy Christmas party every year, and we plan that up to a month+ in advance. Bachelorette parties and showers where people need to travel also get muchos advanced planning. Birthday parties usually get about a week and The Hubs and I have been known to decide to throw casual parties for no reason at all the day of.

Impromptu stuff is fun, but to throw a slammin party, it's definitely gotta be a month+

i'd say a week in advance. i pretty much envision everything in my head and when i get down to business (doing it) i find it runs pretty smoothly! :)

It completely depends on the type of party. :) Sometimes I start planning months in advance, like the birthday shindig I shared with my friend this year, and other times it is about a week ahead of time. If I have people over last minute I usually don't call it a party..it is more of just hanging out.

I like having more time to plan but sometimes the most impromptu things are the most fun and seem to turn out the best!

I am last minute with basically everything. Including inviting people.

I'm one of those last-minute people who also wants an elaborate food spread. So by the time guests arrive, I'm frazzled and it takes me a while to come down and enjoy myself. I need to change this...
