Whole Foods is rarely busy before 12 p.m. on Saturday morning. Either that or everyone is out on the trails because those are usually packed in the mornings. I trade off hiking for grocery shopping to avoid the crowds. jessy777 7 years I have my grocery buying down to a science so I can live for 2 weeks, sometimes 3, on a single trip to the store. I have also learned how to maximize savings. Since I have started eating healthier with my diet a year or so ago I have reduced the amount of food I buy. verily 7 years Hautie, Rushka: I generally do my main shopping early in the morning on Fridays or Saturdays. The store I prefer is always insanely busy after 12, but strangely really quiet before then. I guess Austinites don't wake up early. Hautie 7 years As mention by a earlier post... about the drama of kids screaming, rude people on phones and generally holding up the flow... I do my grocery shopping on Sunday nights. I like to visit my Kroger's after 8pm on Sundays. When there is never any screaming kids or just general rude behavior from the other shoppers. It is so peaceful. So I do my big shopping then. But it never fails that I have to go again during the week for something odd... so my Krogers gets my money at least twice a week. :) BRANDYNICOLE730 7 years Usually biweekly, but we've kind been loading up on groceries for a few months, before all the prices really spike. Havn't been in a few weeks, and probably won't have to go for atleast 2 more. We have way too much meat and food in our freezer that needs used right now. By this summer, we'll have to make space so that we can freeze all the excess fresh veggies from our garden. Yay for fresh veggies! ayuninur 7 years a few times a week leeluvfashion 7 years Twice a week. Sometime 3x's depending on how urgent we need an item. chiefdishwasher 7 years Daily. My shopping depends on the weather and how busy we will be. In the winter, when it looks like it will be rainy for a few days, we may shop less often. MandyJoBo 7 years We go a few times a week. We used to do once a week trips, but I just can't decide what I want for a whole week. By mid-week, we were eating out because there wasn't anything I wanted in the fridge. :) lickety-split 7 years everyday. we have some food allergies that require speciality shops but i can't buy everything there (milk, eggs, fruit) and our fridge isn't that big. plus i don't like to decide on monday what i'm having on thursday for some reason. jennjennnbubba 7 years bi-weekly for full on grocery shopping and make a couple of stops in between for an item or two. rushka313 7 years I absolutely loathe this task...I never know what I want. I don't always get exactly what I think I want. List or not. The screaming kids drive me crazy. The indecisive strollers make me insane. The random nit-wit gabbing on her cell phone sharing the weekends drunk stories send me screaming from the whole chaotic mess. Thankfully, my boyfriend LOVES grocery shopping...thus I rarely have to do it :) honeysugar28 7 years Sometimes more than once a week. The store near by my house doesn't always have the brands I like. Marci 7 years Every two months or so we do a big stock-up shopping on non-perishables. Then once a week we do the other shopping for milk, eggs, produce, meat, chicken. Works out well. uptown_girl 7 years I do my main shopping on Saturday or Sunday usually at a grocery I drive to, like Whole Foods then Kroger or Harris Teeter or Publix. But there is a smaller grocery store across the street from my apartment, so I run over there once or twice a week for the one or two extra things I need for a recipe or if I run out of fruit. I don't feel guilty if I'm not wasting gas! But there have been weekends where I have hit up Kroger on Friday night, Whole Foods on Saturday, and then the across the street grocery on Sunday. That's usually if I am cooking AND baking a lot. emalove 7 years We go every Sunday. aimeeb 7 years Weekly. faerymagick15 7 years I go for major shopping once a week but I always manage to forget something even if I make a list!! So, I end up going at least once more for a couple odds and ends. tiffanyfuchsia 7 years I really need to go weekly, because right now I don't go often enough so I will buy too much perishable food and then it ends up going bad before I get around to using it. Such a waste of money! JaimeLeah526 7 years I go a few times a week and have found that I spend a lot more money that way. I need to make a list and plan meals for the week. I think it would help if I could go shopping on the same day every week. caligirl101 7 years I wish that I could say that i plan out my meals and only buy what I need. SugarCat 7 years I go a little more than a month in between trips. wackdoodle 7 years So hard to say for sure. I plan out my meals for the foreseeable future then I go buy what I need to make what ever meal. Usually I keep my pantry stocked with the my staples and my meals are mainly my staples so if I shop for groceries it's for things like fresh veggies or fruit. Or small ethnic food items that I didn't have in my pantry already. That my happen bi-weekly or once monthly. fuzzles 7 years A few times per week, here. I'm lucky to have several grocery stores a short distance from home. I scan the Sunday ads for the specials (and coupons!)and make a trip per week to 2 or 3 stores to get the good deals. In the summer I tend to focus on the many farmer's markets in the area.
