How to Plan a Bridal Shower Brunch

Planning a Bridal Shower? Host a Brunch!

If you are planning a bridal shower, don't overlook brunch. It's a great time for a laid-back, female-oriented affair that's sure to be enjoyed by all ages. Last weekend, I attended a friend's bridal brunch and I was so impressed with the menu that I snapped photos to share with you. The three hostesses served an assortment of breakfast and lunch foods buffet-style. They combined homemade dishes with store-bought food. Then they threw in wine and lush floral arrangements to create an elegant, welcoming atmosphere.

The food was smartly set out on a glass table that could be accessed from all sides. This made it easy to grab a bite and ensured that no one was waiting in line.

Fresh berries were plated near granola and yogurt.

Veggies were served next to store-bought hummus.

A cheese plate is easy to assemble. The hostesses offered four cheeses, one hard, one brie, one super creamy, and everyone's favorite, Cowgirl Creamery's Mount Tam. The cheese was set on a large board with two kinds of crackers, sliced bread, dried cranberries, fig jam, and toasted almonds.

One of the bride's favorite salads is Comforts Cafe Chinese chicken salad. It was served family style on a large platter.

The bride's out-of-town friend sent several large bouquets of beautiful flowers.

Another gorgeous floral arrangement.

Upon arrival at the house, I was greeted by the wonderful smell of these muffins baking.

Delicate egg salad and diced mushroom sandwiches were placed inside a hollowed-out bread bowl. It made for a fun presentation.

The bride's favorite flavor of cake is carrot. Naturally they had enough carrot cupcakes for the crowd. These super moist cakes with delicious cream cheese frosting were from Sweet Things.

Homemade frittata bites with spinach and sausage were addictive!

The view kitchen overlooked a beautiful outdoor patio on a small peninsula of the San Francisco Bay.

White wine and sparkling wine were placed on a nearby bar with glasses and lemonade.

Red wine, fresh orange juice, and citrus wedges were on another bar.

When guests arrived, everyone stacked their presents on a side table.

I really like the idea of a Bridal Shower brunch. The thing I dislike about showers the most is they're often in the middle of the day so your entire day is pretty much booked. When I was working in the food industry, I didn't have Saturdays off, so instead of just asking for the morning or night shift, if the shower started at say 2 or 3, I had to request the whole day off and lose money.
