Ina Garten Reveals the 1 Thing She Could Eat For the Rest of Her Life

Ina Garten has been quite the busy bee this year. With the release of her newest cookbook, Cooking For Jeffrey, and her new TV show of the same name, it's safe to say we can expect a lot more of Ina in 2017. The Barefoot Contessa host caught up with Food Network recently and dished on everything from her signature dishes to what inspires her recipes and even revealed the one meal she could eat for the rest of her life. Hint: it's probably not what you'd expect. Keep reading to see the highlights from her revealing interview, and then read the full interview on Food Network.

On the inspiration for her recipes:

"I get it really from everywhere. I mean, if I go to dinner somewhere or I see something in a cookbook or I see something in a food store or somebody tells me about something they had — a friend goes to a dinner party and had something delicious. I mean it's, like, in the air, and I keep a running list of things that I want to make. Today, you know, figs are in season, so I was playing around with a ricotta and fig cake. So, I'm always adding to the list and taking things off the list, and I just find inspiration everywhere."

On the one meal she could eat for the rest of her life:

"Just one? A good Irish oatmeal."

On what she considers to be her signature dish:

"Roast chicken and apple tart — French apple tart. Actually, I'll do better than that. There's one dinner that I make very often which I just love. It's rack of lamb, orzo with roasted vegetables, and a French apple tart for dessert."

On who she would invite, dead or alive, to her dinner party:

"Jeffrey. Julia Child. Taylor Swift. And my best friends."
