When McDonald's tackled the frozen fruit drink market with the launch of Real Fruit Smoothies last month, competitor Jamba Juice put its game face on. The first attack came with a brazen parody of a Jamba Juice commercial that featured a "Cheeseburger Chill Smoothie"; it quickly went viral. Now, the smoothie chain's fighting back by honoring its competitor's smoothie coupons.
This week, Jamba Juice announced it will accept any McDonald's smoothie coupon or free voucher through Aug. 15 in major metropolitan areas, including New York, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, Sacramento, Chicago, Denver, San Diego, and Miami. And all isn't lost for those who don't have McDonald's coupons; they can still download $1 off coupons online.
