Kashi Hummus Crisps Review

Pizza Fans: Try Kashi's Sundried Tomato, Basil, and Feta Hummus Crisps

Forget about chips. These days it's all about the crisps, and health food line Kashi is no exception; it's developed a new line of hummus crisps made from chickpeas and its signature seven grains. We tried the entire line but found ourselves partial to the Sundried Tomato, Basil, and Feta Hummus Crisps ($3). Keep reading to see why.

Despite Kashi's attempt to mimic flavors "inspired by the Mediterranean," what these crisps actually wound up tasting like is a margherita pizza. They're umami-filled with the same qualities as the real thing, but with a more wholesome guise. The snack's texture, which had lots of wrinkles and puffed pockets in the vein of Popchips, would be great broken and sprinkled over tomato soup, or for scooping in hummus dip. Or, as we mostly did, eating straight out of the bag as a whole grain snack.

These reminded me of some delicious pizza-flavored chips I ate as a kid, except not as bad for me.
