Let's Dish: Hell's Kitchen 4.12

Let's Dish: Hell's Kitchen 4.12

With the competition down to the final four, the stakes are high on Hell's Kitchen. Last night's episode was full of weighted silences, evil glares, and surprising compliments. The entertaining challenge tested the chefs' innovation and their ability to mass produce a specific dish. It was the smoothest, most successful dinner service to date. To discuss the elimination and more,

.

  1. Who did you think the special lunch guests were?
  2. During the challenge, why did Corey choke?
  3. Whose dish sounded the best?
  4. Did you notice when Jen took a bite of a leftover sandwich?
  5. Am I the only one who thinks a shopping spree with Gordon Ramsay would be fabulous fun?
  6. Weren't Petrozza's words about working together as a team heartwarming?
  7. Were you fooled when Ramsay said Corey's name first at elimination?

As usual, tough chef Ramsay had plenty of things to say. Here are a few of the highlights:

  • On Corey's empty plates during the challenge: Corey, can you get some f***ing food on the plate? Please! Before you and I have a f***ing fall out.
  • On Christina's new look: Now do me a favor. Shake out the hair and take the glasses off. There you go, you look like Elizabeth Hurley!
  • On Jen's inconsistent risotto: Jen the rice is mush. Have you switched off now? Your spoon is crushing the rice! Where's your risotto? Where is your spark?
  • On Christina's hot pot handle: Don't stop and look stupid like some thick cow! Christina the handle was over the flame, if it's over the stove at least say something, yeah? If a pan handle is over the f***ing flame, say something please!
  • On the final three contestants: Well at least give each other a kiss or a hug or something! I know Petrozza is fat, but he's not that ugly.

Hooray, Jen is gone! Petrozza is a classy fellow. As for the rest of the questions, I had to tape the show because I had to work late. I'll let you know after I watch it later today.:)

Although I have said that this is the worst batch of chefs this season, I'm for Petrozza at this point. He wasn't involved in the blue team drama with Ben, he can cook beautifully, other then being a little messy, he hasn't caused any drama, so he hasn't been noticed as much as some others. He is a sincere team player, I just hope Ramsey thinks he has the "punch" to be a boss, because he could win it all.

1. I honestly thought they would be kids! 2. I think she was too wrap 3. Actually Petrozza's sounded interesting. And I think Corey's 4. Yes lmao 5. I was really friggin jealous of her...I want to hang out with him for a day!!!! 6. Yes :) I like Petrozza, I really do! 7. A bit - my dad totally freaked out lol.

(remember her comment about the lunch - "if it had been men, I'd have been able to do something there..." Sorry honey - you're not THAT hot.) Haha, mom2ross... I had the same thought! That's wishful thinking, Corey. :oy: Who did you think the special lunch guests were? I was thinking it might be other celebrity chefs or food critics. Wasn't really thinking outside the box enough for this show. During the challenge, why did Corey choke? I just don't think she planned or managed her time well enough. Whose dish sounded the best? I think Christina's. It sounded light, but flavorful. Jen's would have been my second choice. I don't generally like fish sandwiches and monte cristos are too greasy for me. Did you notice when Jen took a bite of a leftover sandwich? YES! A complete stranger was eating that sandwich! I mean, she's on TV! Am I the only one who thinks a shopping spree with Gordon Ramsay would be fabulous fun? Yeah... I think you might be, Yum. ;) I thought that was a strange reward. How obnoxious was that when Jen and Corey were trash-talking Christina's style? Petty. Weren't Petrozza's words about working together as a team heartwarming? The man has sense, but judging by the preview for next week... it looks like those words flew right out of the window. Were you fooled when Ramsay said Corey's name first at elimination? No, he pulls this stunt too many times. For some reason, I was expecting him to say Christina. I can't believe she managed to burn him TWICE. That's pretty careless.

Team Corey!!!! although, from recent editing i am really starting to like Christina too. I think Patrozza is okay, but he is too nice and we would need someone tougher in the kitchen...although both girls cry constantly so I don't know...

1. Who did you think the special lunch guests were? When he made the "mother" comment, I thought it would be THEIR moms like they've done before, but then he said 80 plates... 2. During the challenge, why did Corey choke? No idea, poor planning, obviously. 3. Whose dish sounded the best? None, I'm vegetarian. I thought it was funny that the girls said "pregnant women will eat anything" - they've obviously never been pregnant! LOL 4. Did you notice when Jen took a bite of a leftover sandwich? YES!! It was one thing to take food last week that had been cooked, but never touched. That was a partially eaten (by who knows) sandwich...gross. Is she that poor? Or that hungry!? 5. Am I the only one who thinks a shopping spree with Gordon Ramsay would be fabulous fun? I'd rather shop at Williams-Sonoma or Sur La Table with him than for clothes, though. 6. Weren't Petrozza's words about working together as a team heartwarming? Yes, that was one of the many generous, fair and honest things he's said all season. He's a classy guy, too bad he's so stinkin' dirty, though. 7. Were you fooled when Ramsay said Corey's name first at elimination? Of course, wasn't I supposed to be? I'm still going to hold out for Christina. If it were my restaurant, she'd be a good choice because she's still a student and I could teach her to do things as I wanted in my restaurant. Corey is still too shady for me (remember her comment about the lunch - "if it had been men, I'd have been able to do something there..." Sorry honey - you're not THAT hot.) and Petrozza is just too dirty. You don't want raw and cooked meats together...ever.

YAY!! (1) I thought they'd be kids too. Didn't pick up on the "mother of all challenges" bit. (2) I think that she just didn't factor in plating 80 dishes into the short amount of time they already had to cook all that food too. (3) Christina's - I love curry and love guacolmole...never thought of putting the 2 together before though! It's a dish I'm going to try and recreate. (4) Yes. Gross. (5) Super-fun! How could you not have fun shopping for pricey clothes and not having to foot the bill! (6) Petrozza's the man. I really hope he wins...he's got the experience, the patience, and the right attitude for the job. And although he is sloppy...it's not like he'll have to clean up after himself as head-chef. (7) Yup. I actually thought that he would keep Jenn around. I'm SO glad he didn't! I thought it was hilarious that Jenn actually thought that she wouldn't get caught putting Christina's name in their 'secret ballot' vote twice. I know that she's a cheat, a liar, and pretty much a horrible person all around...but I didn't think she was that much of an idiot too... Go Petrozza!!

I don't know, I guess I'm a Christina fan by default because I can't stand Corey - she's vindictive and weak at the same time, being a bitch to Christina and falling apart and looking near tears during dinner service, a prime example of being able to dish it out but not take it. To me Christina's really green but I can't really get into Patrozza, either...they're all backbiting and seem like mediocre cooks. But thank God Jen is gone!! I'd say Christina or Patrozza for the win...and I bet it'll be between the two of them because that seems like a pattern for Hell's Kitchen...the likeable inexperienced pretty girl vs. their opposite.

Ding dong the witch is dead! Huzzah. I'm so glad not to be yelled at by my TV anymore. What a loud and delusional woman. 1. I was with Christina and thinking they might have been kids. The "mother of all challenges" comment did have me thinking moms, but I shrugged it off. 2. I think she did the same thing as Stephanie on Top Chef - too many ideas, not enough honing down of one concept. 3. I'm a Monte Cristo fan. 4. Not the first time Jen has eaten leftover food - recall last week when she ate the scraps from the chefs' demonstrations for Christina. 5. You're definitely not the only one, but I'm not feeling it. He's not my type, and shopping's never really been my thing. 6. Again, Petrozza with the truly kind and gentlemanly comment. 7. I was a little fooled, and my heart sank. I continue to be a Petrozza fan.

I am SO GLAD that Jen is gone. I couldn't handle her for another episode. I did enjoy though how they always edited her commentary about how she's the best and deserves to win to precede her getting yelled at for something.
