Let's Dish: Hell's Kitchen 4.14

Let's Dish: Hell's Kitchen 4.14

It's down to the final two on Hell's Kitchen! This week there was no elimination as the contestants created their own menus, remodeled the restaurant, and jetted off to New York to compete. I greatly enjoyed the episode because it showed a much tamer Ramsay. Did you watch? To discuss in depth,

.

  1. Were you impressed Petrozza knew the color celedon green?
  2. Wasn't it cute when they got on Ramsay's private jet?
  3. How could Petrozza not know they were going to cook?!
  4. What did you think of Ramsay's executive chefs judging the challenge? (I loved it!)
  5. Were you surprised Petrozza won the challenge?
  6. Did anyone else notice that Christina was wearing a striped shirt while hating on the stripes in the restaurant?
  7. Didn't the returning chefs look like they had makeovers?
  8. Would you pick Matt or Jen to be on your team?
  9. Who knew: Whoopi Goldberg + Chef Ramsay = bffs?

Since there was no dinner service, Ramsay was in good spirits. He was full of compliments and treated the chefs with respect. However, he did manage to give them a couple of zingers:

  • On the final two: I'm nervous. I've got some serious concerns about your restaurant. I just need to know if I've made the right decision. Do I have the right finalists.
  • On leaving for New York: Hurry up! We're leaving!

1. Were you impressed Petrozza knew the color celedon green? He is a cater, so you have to be versed in a broad variety of things, so it doesn't shock me 2. Wasn't it cute when they got on Ramsay's private jet? Sure, why not, lol......didn't know they had one. 3. How could Petrozza not know they were going to cook?! Wishful thinking 4. What did you think of Ramsay's executive chefs judging the challenge? (I loved it!) A nice twist, they seemed very honest for the most part. 5. Were you surprised Petrozza won the challenge? No, thought he was close, and probably should have won one by now 6. Did anyone else notice that Christina was wearing a striped shirt while hating on the stripes in the restaurant? Right off the bat, told my wife, it was funny. 7. Didn't the returning chefs look like they had makeovers? Yeah, but they had some time and I'm sure it was part of the whole experience. 8. Would you pick Matt or Jen to be on your team? That's a tough one. First thought would be Jen because she's a better cook, but a ton of problems......second thought was Matt, let her go to Christina's side, you can always send Matt to his room, if he still has one. My wife and I have thought that he should have Chosen Corey....she was the strongest of what was there to choose from. He still would have got Bobby or Ben, more likely Ben. But well see how it plays out Tuesday. 9. Who knew: Whoopi Goldberg + Chef Ramsay = bffs? NOT....don't see that one, but who knew she'd be a regular on Star Trek TNG....lol....Rooting for Petrozza....he's a local guy, Charlotte is only 14 miles away........

1. Were you impressed Petrozza knew the color celedon green? Didn't even notice, to be honest. 2. Wasn't it cute when they got on Ramsay's private jet? I don't think it's Ramsey's private jet, is it? It was probably just rented for and on behalf of the show. I didn't think it was cute per se, but it was necessary for what they wanted to do. 3. How could Petrozza not know they were going to cook?! I was wondering that too? I would have imagined that before coming on this show, he would have thought up a whole menu already. Especially if it's always been his dream! 4. What did you think of Ramsay's executive chefs judging the challenge? (I loved it!) I thought it was very clever. I really like that real executive chefs are getting attention. 5. Were you surprised Petrozza won the challenge? I'm a little suspicious that it was fixed, especially consider that he hasn't won one yet. I'm sure people are asking, "Well, why is Petrozza a finalist if he hasn't even won a challenge yet?" 6. Did anyone else notice that Christina was wearing a striped shirt while hating on the stripes in the restaurant? No. Christina was clearly giving out mixed signals. If she didn't want stripes for the walls, she should have been abundantly clear about EXACTLY what it was that she wanted. I did think it looked gross, so I'm glad she changed it... but still, I think it was ultimately her fault and she should've been more apologetic/understanding. 7. Didn't the returning chefs look like they had makeovers? Bobby looked a little different! I thought the rest kind of looked the same... just way more relaxed. Not a fan of Jen's hair either. 8. Would you pick Matt or Jen to be on your team? If I were Christina, definitely Matt. Jen was very cold to her in particular. Christina and Matt didn't get along in the end, but Matt has had more time to cool off. It's a shame that Jen can be so petty & conniving - I think she's probably the more competent of the two. 9. Who knew: Whoopi Goldberg + Chef Ramsay = bffs? I thought her presence was awkward and unnecessary. It would've been better with a whole group of celebrities maybe.

intensebandgeek, I think it was the endless repetition of "I hate it" at the decorator and JP. She's got both a Valley-girl inflection with a Midwestern broad vowel, so the three words "I hate it" sounds awful. So yes, welcome to Team Petrozza!

Was it just me or did Christina irritate anyone else last night? I was on Team Christina but she just seemed so rude and over-the-top last night. Now I'm on Team Petrozza!

1. A little. Though perhaps JP introduced it as such and Petrozza just repeated it back at him.2. Cute? I think a lot of things are cute, but climbing aboard a private jet isn't one of them. Impressive, yes. But cute? Nah.3. Oh dear... His cluelessness just makes his win sweeter.4. I was pretty impressed, though I also think it was typical Ramsay (or possibly Fox) overstatement to say that they were the five most sought-after palates in the world.5. Not at all. Petrozza's the man.6. I did. But more importantly, Christina had gone on record as liking those big stripes.7. I'm not sure. They looked more rested, certainly. Matt still had that stupid hat on his head from day one. I was so pleased not to have Jen yelling at me from the TV these past two weeks. Suddenly, aaaaugh! *Seriously* non-plussed.8. I would pick Matt. He may not be very good, but I don't have to watch my back for someone trying to cut me.9. Ew. Not a Whoopi fan, so I was surprised and a little disappointed.

1. Were you impressed Petrozza knew the color celedon green? Uh, yeah! LOL But all it takes in some cases is someone to tell you something like that once and it sticks with you. 2. Wasn't it cute when they got on Ramsay's private jet? Cute? I don't know about THAT, but yeah, it was funny. 3. How could Petrozza not know they were going to cook?! Cuz Petrozza is a naive little man. LOL 4. What did you think of Ramsay's executive chefs judging the challenge? I thought it was great, but I think having them judge the dishes with the pair standing there was a bad idea. It should have been done anonymously. As good as they are, I'd bet they were looking at the two of them going "YEah, he's got the experience, she's just a baby" and gave him the points based on that. If it were anonymous, it would have been more controlled. 5. Were you surprised Petrozza won the challenge? See my note above, and for that reason, no I wasn't. 6. Did anyone else notice that Christina was wearing a striped shirt while hating on the stripes in the restaurant? Yes, I noticed, but so what? I remember once I saw a black house with red trim and thought how UGLY it was. That same day I saw a woman wearing a really cute black dress with red trim. I made the note, "What looks good on a person, doesn't necessarily look good on a building." And it's true. The shirt was cute, the restaraunt was not. 7. Didn't the returning chefs look like they had makeovers? They looked like they had sat in the hair and makeup chairs. 8. Would you pick Matt or Jen to be on your team? Matt every time. Jen is a whiny out for herself bi**h and I wouldn't trust her ego-maniacal attitude as far as I could throw her, which by the size of her, isn't far. She's a stupid loud mouthed you-know-what and I still can't believe Ramsey let her come back. He has to know she'll sabotage whoever she's working with. 9. Who knew: Whoopi Goldberg + Chef Ramsay = bffs? Yeah, a has-been that's doing everything she can to save her career, and a man who's at the top of his career. Who knew.

1. I thought that was so cute! And on the same topic, I thought it was hysterical how Christina & Petrozza wanted exactly the opposite of everything.2. That was so cool. Although, I did think to myself that in this day & age, I'm surprised that GR did something as eco-unfriendly as fly LA-NYC-LA in a private jet.3. Sometimes, Petrozza is just not that swift. Those are the times when I really question if he can make it.4. I thought it was brilliant!5. Not at all. I almost think that they threw him a bone on that one, since he had never won a challenge before.6. Yes, I noticed her shirt too, and it totally annoyed me! I didn't think that the stripes were too bad, I just didn't like the white windows.7. I think that they just gussied themselves up a little. But Jen - ew. What was with her hair???8. I'd pick Matt - he's too dumb to try & sabotage you. I think that Jen is bitter.9. Whoopi Goldberg + Chef Ramsay = bffs? THat was so out of left field!!

It's going to be an interesting finale. I think Petrozza should have been a bit more strategic about who he put on his team. Since he picked Ben, if he picks Matt it may jeopardize his team because they hate each other. And it would be nuts to pick Jen at all. He should have taken Corey, Bobby and Matt(the lesser of two evils).

Team Petrozza, not enjoying Christina at all. I would pick Matt, as crazy as he is, I would be more worried about Jen being spiteful and being a bit of a saboteur.

I haven't been watching this season of Hell's Kitchen, but I keep hearing so much about it. Am I really missing out? I gave up on the show mid-season last summer.

1. Were you impressed Petrozza knew the color celedon green? Nah, Petrozza seems to be the kind of man that knows his colors. 2. Wasn't it cute when they got on Ramsay's private jet? I was actually surprised that "Hell's Kitchen" had a private jet, who knew? 3. How could Petrozza not know they were going to cook?! I don't know! Hasn't he seen the show before??? 4. What did you think of Ramsay's executive chefs judging the challenge? (I loved it!) It was kinda cool, considering that's the job Christina and Petrozza want. But seriously, who couldn't see the 2-2 judging right before commercial. I called it before it even happened! 5. Were you surprised Petrozza won the challenge? Nope, it was pretty much a set up, you could totally tell that he was going to win, after all the talking about Christina having 9 wins and her saying, "Oh, I thought it was 10." 6. Did anyone else notice that Christina was wearing a striped shirt while hating on the stripes in the restaurant? I did, but she was so annoying with the "I didn't know there were going to be stripes", and then it showed her saying she liked the stripes. She really showed her youth in that piece. Plus those big fake windows looked baaaad! 7. Didn't the returning chefs look like they had makeovers? They did look pretty good! 8. Would you pick Matt or Jen to be on your team? Probably Jen, only because she's not as much of a jerk as Matt, he was awful to Christina. She's evil though. Too bad that C & P both have to be stuck with one of them. 9. Who knew: Whoopi Goldberg + Chef Ramsay = bffs That was odd, and really unnecessary! This is one of the few shows that my husband will sit down with me and watch, I'll be sad to see it go, but I'm excited to see who will win. I was going for Christina, because she's a woman, but now I'm rooting for Petrozza because he's old!

1. Were you impressed Petrozza knew the color celedon green? It's probably something he's familiar with already. I wouldn't have referred to it as that color, that's for sure. 2. Wasn't it cute when they got on Ramsay's private jet? I guess, everything is just over the top at the end.3. How could Petrozza not know they were going to cook?! Wishful thinking, maybe? 4. What did you think of Ramsay's executive chefs judging the challenge? (I loved it!) That was clever, but seemed very set up. Heck of a coincidence that it would be 2-2 before the commercial, right? And isn't that kind of gross that they all ate from one plate? Wouldn't it be getting colder and colder...? 5. Were you surprised Petrozza won the challenge? Nope, it was about time he did. Again, something predictably done - hmmm...6. Did anyone else notice that Christina was wearing a striped shirt while hating on the stripes in the restaurant? My man did!! LOL And it wasn't the stripes that looked bad, it was the fake city-scape murals they stole from Sears Portrait Studio...tee hee.7. Didn't the returning chefs look like they had makeovers? It's either that, or the fact that they're not being woken up from upstairs without enough time to get ready.8. Would you pick Matt or Jen to be on your team? I'd prefer neither, but I guess I'd use my power to kick them out if they pulled their usual "drama". 9. Who knew: Whoopi Goldberg + Chef Ramsay = bffs That was odd, huh?I'm SO glad this will all be over next week and I can have my Tuesday nights back. I just cringed the minute I saw Jen last night. She honestly thinks Gordon Ramsay will realize she shouldn't have been eliminated!? Damn that's funny.

1. Not really impressed...more suprised. Going based on stereotypes that makes me question his sexual orientation, but only momentarily lol.2. Yes 3. He is too overwhelemd with making a menu. He was so funny though 4. I thought that was a great twist. The two had to know it was going to be difficult...once you work for Gordon Ramsay you know they are going to be super critical!5. Yes I was. I honestly thought Christina had another one in the bag. 6. I didn't notice it last night, but looking back on it yea lmao. She was crying over stripes. I can sorta understand why she was so upset though. This is her chance to wow everyone in everyway and it wasn't what she envisioned. 7. Yes, and Jen's was horrible. Her hair...1980's?8. I would pick Matt. He isn't as good as Jen, but he takes instruction and will end up with the same end product without giving too much lip. Lets hope his migrain doesn't come back though lmao9. That was funny. Whoopi was such a random person to have on the show like that lol. I wonder who Petrozza will pick? I think he may pick Jen...but if not that will make for some good drama on Christina's sid eof the kitchen And may I add, Ramsay's hotness was in full on "come and get me" mode last night!
