Let's Dish: What's Your Favorite Holiday Appetizer?

Let's Dish: What's Your Favorite Holiday Appetizer?

With so many parties on the horizon this month, I've got appetizers on the brain. I generally eschew purchasing items like store-bought chip dip for holiday parties in favor of making festive appetizers of my own. There are a notable few — like roquefort and walnut canapés, latkes, and Parmesan fricos — that I can never resist making (and promptly consuming!) at Christmas and Hanukkah parties. What holiday appetizers will you never turn down?

I'm with Nancita. I love baked brie. I like mine with pecans and real maple syrup. Delicious.

My mum makes amazing little savouries with cream cheese and spinach. I also love homemade flatbread with garlic infused olive oil, rosemary and rock salt. Anything else I can take or leave, really. I'm not a big snacker, so tend to fill up really quickly on appetizers if I have them and spoil my dinner.

Last night, I went to a friend's crafting party, and I was reminded how much I love baked brie. hers had pecans and honey. So good! A nice holiday take on a cheese plate.

Mustard-marinated mushrooms, I can eat the whole jar haha. Back in my dairy-eating days, tho, I'd have said phyllo-wrapped cranberries & brie... It's not the best as an app because it's so filling, but it's super yummy!

My family always whips up olive dip for The Holidays. All you need is softened cream cheese, minced green olives with pimento, minced yellow onion, and a bit of the juice from the olive jar. Celery and carrot chips are served for dipping. So easy and sooooo good!
