Mop:
A barbeque term referring to a wet sauce that's applied to meat with brushes or spray bottles to ensure moisture while cooking. It usually contains some form of acidity - such as lemon juice or vinegar - to tenderize the meat.

I think the term "Mop" comes from how big BBQ pit masters use an actual trimmed mop to coat the meat. You can get mini versions at kitchen stores :) we prefer a silicone brush though.

Basting Im guessing is reapplying the juices that come from the meat during the cooking process. I had no idea this term existed. Cool! That chicken looks soooooo good!
