Muddled Cocktails: Love Them or Hate Them?

Today, many people (myself included!) are enjoying a refreshing mint julep in honor of the Kentucky Derby. While I love this sort of cocktail, which is made with muddled herbs and (or) fruit, I know not everyone is a fan. Some prefer clean cocktails that are strained and free of floating fruit chunks and herb leaves. What is your opinion on the matter? Do you mind if a drink is filled with stuff or do you prefer plain spirit and mixer?

I love them, but not always. Some days, I'm just not in the mood to chew my drink.

No chunks please! Muddled drinks are like trying to drink a salad...just gross...I put these along the lines of pulp in orange juice --- things to be strained out!

Here's a great summertime muddled cocktail- the blackberry bramble! http://gnoshings.wordpress.com/2010/05/03/the-blackberry-bramble/ I've been working on the recipe for like a week now, and you can always run it through a strainer to take out the chunky bits.
