Off to Market Recap: Kitchen Island

Bed Bath & Beyond at ShopStyle

As you all know, I just moved. In my new kitchen, there's a large space between the fridge and cabinets. If I leave it empty, it will be wasted space, but if I get a portable work station, it will be more counter space! I asked you to help me search the Internet for the best kitchen islands. When you found an island, you bookmarked it in the Off to Market group in the YumSugar Community. Since there's only one drawer in my kitchen, I'm looking for an island that doubles as a storage unit. I'm absolutely in love with this island from Bed Bath & Beyond.

It has two drawers, a cupboard, and cabinet meaning I can store kitchen utensils, pots, and baking pans — and at $249, it's not too expensive. Check out all the islands below.

Love that island. And if you use one of those 20% off BB&B coupons that are always coming in the mail, you can get it for $200. Bonus.

Thanks suzi! I have yet to get to Ikea and have a huge list of things I need to find, so hopefully I will make it there soon.

Ooh, I just found a smaller version of the one I got, for $100. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80035920 I'll try to post it to the off to market group....

That one from BB&B looks really nice. I was absolutely obsessed with the Crate and Barrel one that's $500 for the longest time. I came so close to actually buying it. Then this weekend my husband and I made a trip to Ikea where we discovered this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60045393 It's less polished-looking than the BB&B one, but it looks like it's twice as long and offers a lot more shelf space, and for $50 less. It's probably too big for your kitchen, but it fit perfectly into a space in our kitchen that was being very poorly used. I'm kind of deliriously happy with it. It more than doubled our countertop area. Good luck finding your perfect island - I know how it can make such a difference in your kitchen!
