Moet & Chandon expects to pop about 1,000 bottles of champagne on Oscar night, and this year's signature cocktail is the Red Carpet Glamor. It's champagne, but botanical spirits, a little bit of sour mix and it's garnished with a single rose petal. I know that this year there was a little bit of a unique process when it came to selecting the cocktail. Can you tell me about that? Sure, we had the Moet Oscar Cocktail Contest for the first time and the Moet & Chandon helped us choose an exclusive cocktail for the Governor's Ball. And it also sounds like something that people could make at home. Most definitely. It's simply just a little fresh squeezed sour mix, topped with botanical liqueur, and then the more imperial champagne, and a simple rose petal. It's very beautiful, yeah. Now, if somebody wanted to make a cocktail at home for an Oscars party, for example, what are some suggestions you might have beyond just the red carpet glamor? You know, it's really important to keep it simple and to allow the champagne to shine through. The most classic cocktail that there would be is the champagne cocktail. Right. And then simply a cube of sugar, a couple of dashes of bitters, I like to put orange bitters, and the top it with some champagne. Another easy simple one is to take something like a ginger liqueur, a cassis liqueur, and make a variation on a Kir Royale. So you just would put a touch in the bottom and top it with this and it gives it a nice hue as well.
