Pabst Blue Ribbon Bought by Russian Company
Will You Still Drink PBR Once It Leaves the States?
Hipsters, try not to leap out of your suspenders with shock, but Pabst Brewing Company has been acquired by a Russian brewing conglomerate. The same company that churns out Lone Star beers and Oasis Beverages has purchased the classic American beer brand. Brewed in the United States since 1844, Pabst Blue Ribbon has become the go-to beverage for 20-somethings nationwide and will remain stateside for the time being. The headquarters of the beer manufacturer will remain in California until further notice, so hope remains that the shift in ownership may not incite large changes . . . but to loyal customers who applauded PBR for creating jobs domestically, Pabst's reputation may suffer purely on principle.
