Savory Sight: Unique Pasta With Brussels Sprouts and Bacon

If you still haven't figured out what to make for dinner tonight, take a page from courtneyd's book. Here, she used homegrown brussels sprouts and a unique pasta called Mother-in-Law's Tongue to create a satisfying meal.

After many, many months of growing brussels sprouts, I finally was able to harvest my crop (all 4+ pounds of it!!). At the same time, I stumbled upon this great pasta called Mother-in-Law's Tongue at World Market and decided I must combine the two for a delicious meal. After combing through recipes, I decided to use the tried-and-true combination of bacon and brussels sprouts for this delicious dish from Martha Stewart.

Lauren, while I love brussels sprouts, I probably wouldn't grow them again. I only have three 9 ft. square garden boxes, and these ended up taking over one. I can just as easily buy 4 stalks at the farmers market and call it a day, instead of a year :-) Katie - I almost didn't get it, but once I got home I was so happy I did. There's just something fun about the name and the rainbow stripe colors! Plus it had a nice thickness to the pasta, so you could really taste/feel both the pasta and the sprouts.

Looks great and what a fun pasta, too! Would you grow brussels sprouts again?
