I especially love ventresca tuna (tuna belly) and sardines in spicy olive oil... oh and how can I forget how much I love mackerel! AmberHoney 5 years Yes! We go to the OR coast twice a year and stock up on lots of canned fish. One of my fave canneries is in Gold Beach. And of course good ol' tuna is always in the pantry. Not a fan of canned crab cause I'm a SF bay area girl, but I have used it when camping for crab and cheese quesadillas and it's pretty good in the forest. Also been known to enjoy some of the lesser-known ones. I like canned smoked oysters or clams. Tuna, sardines, kippers, anchovy. Saw a No Reservations w/ A. Bourdin where he dined on Spanish canned seafood that he said was the best seafood he'd ever had and was expensive as hell. I also use canned clams for clam chowder and canned crab for seafood gumbo.
