Most definitely! If it offends someone @ the table, then you're sitting at the wrong one!

Heck yeah I would still have a drink. It's my dinner, and I like a glass of wine with it.

I don't order drinks with dinner period. It's an easy way for your check to go from $ to $$$.

I won't drink with recovered alcoholics, and will try to avoid ordering alcohol with active alcoholics. I also won't drink if I'm driving, as at my weight 1 drink is enough to be over the legal limit.Otherwise, if I want a glass of wine I'll order a glass of wine regardless of the rest of the table.

I would definitely have a drink if I wanted one whether I was the only one drinking or not. Why would anyone care what I was drinking? It's not like I would be drunk with one glass of wine or two.

If I wanna a "drink", I'll have a drink; but I also have manners and will accommodate when I'm out with others. It's just common courtesy, an almost lost art in today's society

It depends. Usually I don't drink at restaurants, but if there's a great beer on tap, I'll have one.

If it's just my boyfriend, I'll still order wine -- but if I'm with other people and they aren't drinking, I won't drink either.

weffie, you are hilarious. That said, I'm usually with you, fuzzles — if the person I'm with isn't drinking, especially if they aren't drinking for a reason, then I usually don't order alcohol, either. Occasionally I break the rule when I know the person doesn't mind, and I'm really in the mood for a glass of wine. :)

I'm always happy to see my dining companions enjoy their drinks around me. Although I quit drinking in my late teens, it's nice to learn from others how different alcohol compliments meals - and in many countries wines and beers are considered a gastronomic experience, more than just alcohol plus alcoholic drinks are often presented in a prettier or more interesting way than my glass of sparkling water so it adds to the dining experience

More often than not I am the non-drinker, just because I tend to favor ice water with meals. All bets are off if a burger is involved, though. I don't care if Queen Elizabeth is sitting next to me--I'm hoisting an ice cold beer!

It depends on why no one else is drinking. If the other diners are not drinkers at all, and especially if they are family, I might refrain for their comfort. If, on the other hand, it's just because they aren't in the mood that night, I would still indulge.

I'd probably feel a little awkward.... because who are these strangers at my dinner table?! Lol luckily with my friends this has never been an issue, we're all drinkers. Although on Monday I had lunch with office peeps and I was the only one who had a pint, but I didn't mind because I was also the lone redhead on Robbie Burns Day... I was merely honoring my Scottish heritage :)
