Taste Test: Starbucks Shaken Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade

Few things beat the heat better than a frosty glass of iced tea, except perhaps another Summer favorite: the Arnold Palmer. Starbucks might call its latest menu item by another name — Shaken Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade — but in essence, the two are one and the same, just with a small but significant green tea and peach syrup swap for the standard sweetened black tea. Is this update an upgrade, a solid alternative, or skippable?

The new offering is available both sweetened and unsweetened (our usual preference). Tasters sampled both, and surprisingly, preferred the sweetened version: its flavor was sharper and more balanced, with the added sweetener boosting the peach flavor as well. (Worth noting: the unsweetened version is in fact only marginally less sweet, thanks to the sugar in the lemonade portion.) Watch your back, Arnold Palmer — you've got competition in the form of this light, bright, peachy-keen option.
