WingsEver wanted a recommendation within a chain restaurant? Well, with its new Best of the Menu series, Slashfood (and sister site KitchenDaily) are hoping to heed the consumer call. First off: the appetizers on the menu at nationwide chain Applebee's.

I loved all of those places, but the calories and sodium is insane. But I can't eat at them anymore anyway (too many food sensitivities), so I guess I don't have to worry about that!

I'll never understand the appeal of these types of chain restaurants. Chilis, Applebees, TGI Fridays... gross gross gross. Although I really shouldn't talk because i do love olive garden and pf changs!

yeah, these are winners all right... the classic buffalo wings? 710 calories and 49 grams of fat, and 2000 mg of sodium. the runner up, the boneless wings? seriously? 1160 calories, 69 grams of fat and a whopping 3730 mg of sodium. (data from applebee's own website, by the way). and you haven't even had dinner or drinks yet.
