we've always referred to them as scallions at home
Wait. Green onions and Scallions are the same thing??? That explains why whenever I go to the store to buy them for a recipe I can't find them!!! Darn you scallions and darn all of your aliases!
I say both scallions and green onion.
I go back and forth between scallions and green onions.
I grew up calling them scallions and it was the longest time before I realized that green onions and scallions were one and the same. :D
i call them scallions, but just because i think it is a fun word.
Looks like leeks to me.
i thought that scallions were smaller and finer when chopped up than green onions.
I call them Green Onions, but I know that if a recipe calls for scallions it's the same. I used to get scallions and shallots confused because I thought they were the ones that were one in the same. Now I know better.
