What Kitchenaid Attachments Do You Have/Want?

Let's Dish: What Kitchenaid Attachments Do You Have/Want?

Although the initial cost of a Kitchenaid standing mixer is somewhat pricey, for enthusiastic and adventurous home cooks it's an essential tool worthy of the investment. I use mine once a week and not just for baking needs. The thing that's so great about the Kitchenaid (besides the fact that it comes in a bunch of fabulous colors) is the attachments. I have the electric juicer that is very handy for making large batches of cocktails and the meat grinder that is the key to a perfectly crafted burger. After watching Chef Matt Accarrino make squid-ink pasta from scratch, I'm dying to get my hands on the pasta attachment.

Which attachments do you like? Or which do you dream of one day having?

I just got the juicer and an extra bowl for my birthday last month. I've only used the juicer attachment in a dish to quickly juice a few lemons - I didn't see the need to actually attach it to the mixer in this instance - but I do look forward to lemonade soon. I also have the pasta maker, meat grinder and slicer - none of which I've ever used (I got them in like 2004, after receiving the mixer as a gift.) I would like to get into pasta making. Meat grinding will probably never be big for me and I really love slicing by hand, so I don't see myself using the slicer too often. I had gotten an ice cream maker before the mixer, otherwise, it would be great to just have the bowl to store, instead of the entire machine - but I could never justify the price now.

I just bought and love the ice cream attachment. We bought it with the best intentions, hoping to making healthier ice cream but so far we've made cake batter with cookie dough chunks, brownie batter with brownie chunks and banana chocolate chip. This weekend I want to make peach ice cream. I almost bought the pasta attachment but for the price it didn't seem worth it and bought a free standing one instead. I have the slicer but haven't used it much, mostly because I haven't sliced or grated recently. I put off buying the mixer until I saw an incredible sale for the pro at Kohls and had to get it. I am so glad I did. I have used it constantly for 2 years now.

I FINALLY got a mixer in May from my lovely boyfriend as my graduation from law school gift and I LOVE it! I have the juicer attachment and the slicer attachment, which I got for free through a promotion Macy*s was having when the bf bought the mixer. I want to get the ice cream maker attachment, as well as the pasta attachments. I am intrigued by fresh pasta after seeing it made on Top Chef and I want to give it a try. Seriously a KitchenAid is the best thing that ever happened to my kitchen!

I have the KitchenAid ice cream maker and love it! My family does too- its always a special treat when I make a batch of homemade ice cream. I would like to learn more **good** ice cream recipes that use skim/1% milk and are low in sugar (without going the Splenda route). On a side note, here's a good tip for buying a stand mixer: I have a yellow mixer that I bought on sale from William Sonoma in June a few years ago. Since it was a spring color, it was on clearance at the beginning of the summer. Not only was my mixer cheaper, but I love having the yellow- it really brightens my kitchen! I strongly advise checking the store around the changes of seasons to cash in on great deals!

I need the mixer itself first! Lol. Really wanting one of those. I have a food processor, but I feel like I would use the mixer more

I'd love to get the meat grinder, sausage stuffer and ice cream maker attachments!

I have the pasta attachments and love it, also the ice cream maker (awesome), and the meat grinder and sausage stuffer. Have used all at this point except the sausage stuffer, but love every other one and use the pasta and ice cream maker at least once a month. Don't really have a need for the slicer (have a food processor) or the juicer.

I agree with party! I LOVE my kitchen aid and its attachments! I have the ice cream maker, meat grinder, sausage maker, and a slicer thing! I have only really used the ice cream maker and meat grinder but love both! I might have to invest in the juicer too.
