If you're looking for something that isn't super indulgent, there's an amazing pancake recipe from the 'Body For Life' cookbook. it's pancakes made with egg whites, cottage cheese and splenda (but I like using real sugar. it's only a little bit). i don't know if there's anywhere online to find it but it's a GREAT recipe, tastes just like regular pancakes. I for one like the look of that waffle with a little ice cream on it (yay for a day to indulge!)

Ooooh chlyn, that chocolate stuffed french toast looks divine. For my kids, I get up every V-day and make bacon and pink whole-wheat pancakes, although this year I may make chocolate stuffed French toast! Then for my co-workers, it's chocolate pastries from Panera Bread. Pink Sparkle Girl, depending on where you are you can find pain au chocolat outside of France. I used to work in a French cafe in Northern Virginia and we had them delivered three times a week. Delicious!

Try making stuffed French toast. Here's a recipe for Chocolate Stuffed French Toast. It's similar to one I tried and loved: http://chocolate.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/98/ChocolateStuffedFrenchToast68643.shtml I also love raisin bread stuffed with cream cheese. Here's a recipe similar to the one I have: http://www.yankeemagazine.com/recipes/search/printcard.php?number=17&format=4x6

Hmm...first I'd start off with a warm pain au chocolat from Cafe Besalu here in Seattle, which produces pastries on par with what can be found in France (so many say). Then I would move on to poached lobster with a tarragon aioli on homemade brioche, and maybe some figs stuffed with hazelnut cream and dipped in Valrhona ganache for dessert. Soft scrambled Sea Breeze farm duck eggs. A few glasses of champagne (hold the OJ.) *sigh*

Something luxurious and indulgent like Belgian waffles or French toast with syrup, butter, powdered sugar, whipped cream, and fruit. That would be an ideal romantic breakfast. Then again, a box of donuts wouldn't be bad either. Depends on the kind of date I have to share my breakfast with :-) But I love all the choices and I could eat any of them, whatever day it is.

i think that pastries with milky coffee and orange juice would be the most romantic breakfast. Can someone email that to my husband please?

My man is an excellent breakfast maker - and sometimes he does surprise me with breakfast in bed. But I know that since v-day is on a weekday I will not be getting anything of the sort. If I could, I would fly to France and get a pain au chocolate (croissant with chocolate in the middle) uhhhh I have been dying for one of those since I left France several years ago. I think I just might make some large whole grain waffles with strawberries and homemade whipped cream just for the heck of it. I should have taken the day off from work ;)
