I'll have to go ethnic here and say champ. Champ is mashed new potatoes and spring onions cooked with milk and butter. The Irish know how to cook a potato... "Save the makeup, save the world..."

For me it's a close call between mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, or potato gratin.

haha partysugar, i was about to say that potato gratin is a fancy word for good ole southern scalloped potatoes, but i guess there are subtle differences... _________________________________________________________ Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?

Redsox a potato gratin is a delicious dish typically with thinly sliced potato rounds, cream, and cheese all baked together in the oven. Similar to a potato gratin are scalloped potatoes and potatoes anna.

There are two that are tied for my absolute favorite. My nanny's mashed potatoes or my mom's twice baked. both are a treat i only eat once in a while. mmmmm. _________________________________________________________ Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?

Lately, I've been really into purple potatoes (or Peruvian potatoes as they are technically called). Here's a good blog post on them: esk4, I remember Spuds in Metairie, LA!

Absolutely right, Maggie Mae! If I had to choose, my favorite hands down are golden brown and delicious tater tots. Call me simple but it is the little things that bring a smile to my face :)

I used to think baked potatoes were so boring. I love them roasted, french fries, or mashed with garlic and butter and wanted them those ways. But not too long ago I've come back to baked. It's the potato in its purest form and I haven't appreciated it until recently. So I picked 'baked,' but the potato is a great food any way you slice it!

I only eat Potatoes Au Gratin or french fries. I can't eat too many bites of mashed potatoes before I start to gag...something about the texture bothers me. :)
