What Kind of Skewers Do You Grill With?

During summertime, there's nothing more natural to me than grilling kebabs for dinner. They're quick-cooking, simple to construct, and I think everything tastes better on a stick anyway. Even though you have to soak them for half an hour before use, I prefer to use wooden skewers; I stay away from metal ones because they conduct heat. However, my parents have the metal kind and love that they're reusable. Which do you prefer?

Metal, although when RVing I use wood. On the millions of cooking shows that I view, someone said "leave spaces between your food and it will cook more evenly". I tried it and it worked for me!

I prefer the wooden ones, but my bf hates them and wants to get metal ones... so far we haven't bought any though.

I use metal. I like that I don't have to soak them and the ones I have are longer then any wood ones I have ever used. The main reason I stopped using wood ones was because there are a big waste since you only use them once.
